It is pretty out there, but then again that is Portland.

That's pretty much what's up around there. :frantic: I don't live in Portland proper or even in the county where it exists. Work takes me around portland all week long and it can be entertaining. That show doesn't really touch on the seedier parts of town. It's a small city, so it's just a short drive to the real world.

My company does work in the condo where the male star of that show, Fred Armisen, resides while he's in Portland.

I don't personally don't know much about the city. I worked with a couple of guys from there and they are the ones that showed me the show. Have only seen a couple of episodes but that song sticks in my mind.

It's kinda amusing. There is enough normalcy in Portland that life goes on. There's business, recreation, hospitals, politics, free trade, etc. Oh, and pretty good food. There's just an injection of oddity and bizarre behavior on an individual human level to distract the casual and removed observer.

I would say the show is more of an exaggeration of the bizarre elements of Portland. Those types things epitomized by the show do exist, just not to that degree. Did they do a thing about lumbersexuals on Portlandia? Cuz that is a thing here.

I think it's funny that a lot of us (including myself) say, "I've had a beard and wore flannel before it was cool", in true hipster fashion. haha. I get a little mad sometimes when I see someone just going for "the look"...But then I think to myself, of all the fashion trends that have come and gone I'd rather see this than skinny jeans or *insert fad here*

Good ol' Portland and the many hipsters and liberals. People wonder why I carry 2 pistols, pepper spray and a couple folders. I have to balance them out.
