The blade was designed that way. It's called crinking, and its done so the blade will clear the other implements when folded. Otherwise, the SAK would have to be thicker to accommodate a straight blade. When the blade is deployed, it looks and acts straight.

My pioneer is my most used, most carried off work blade. Add a P-7 clip and you'll never even realize it is in your pocket until needed.

My farmer is very handy for work. As Sungame said - the small saws are incredibly nice and cut very well for their size.

It's not bent. If you. Look carefully the blade is tapered one side to fit.

Well, Sungame, you have made another convert. I have not had a SAK since the 70's and I just got my Pioneer Alox in the mail last night.

It seems solidly constructed, rides well in the pocket, and I am looking forward to many years of EDCing this one.

I did not "need" a new knife until I joined this forum. Since then I have also purchased one of Chen's neck knives.

Thanks to all the enablers out there!:D

I am glad to read that. I hope the Pioneer lives up to your expectations!

I'm a big fan of SAK and Alox scales. I've carried Victorinox knives since I received my first one as a cub scout. I think they still offer the best bang for the buck out there. They equally look at home in the pockets of blue jeans or a suit and are easy to keep a good edge on.

Nice review! I've got both the Pioneer and the Farmer and those are great knives. ;)

I only wish they would make an 84mm version of the Tourist, with all the tools. With red scales and white shield. As a default model, not a mod - modded Vics are too pricey for me, unfortunately. :censored:
