i wish they had ranger green but this will do, cant wait to get mine in!
A.G., welcome to the forum.
Aside form the camo colors, this really isn't a tactical bag. Truthfully, it's not even a very good general outdoor daypack. It excels at urban EDC and short duration, holiday/business travel.
Anyone heard any updates on the status of the next shipment?
Got confirmation on July 31st.....still waiting for shipping.
Here's mine at work. Holds most all the same stuff as the original EDCF sourced SERT packpack. Just enough to avoid boredom at work, no need for a week's worth of clothes there.
Not fully outfitted yet. Wondering about replacing the zipper pulls but can't decide on a color. Other than that it has been good so far.
^any complaints? EveryDayBeer
Why yes sir, I'm glad you asked. The velcro panel is too small for my skull patch!
Other than that, not really. Just not used to the backpack straps on the new bag yet. They tend to twist a bit more than the old one (when intially putting it on) but more comfortable when you finally get the packpack on. I'm sure I'll get used to it. And size wise it's much better for my purposes.
just got an email that said next batch comes in at the end of next week. Can't wait!
Guys, my sincere apologies to all of you who ordered the 2-Tone, etc that completion of this batch has been delayed. I did send an email yesterday to notify those that had pre-ordered but I missed those that have requested via emails or PM. I've been slowly replacing those missing packs too (we never found the box) but I do have 1 or 2 of you who are still waiting for yours.
I will do my best to get these turnaround as soon as they come it. My apologies again for the delay and thanks for your patience.
Some of the other camos came in but I haven't had a chance to get some good photos taken of these. Will be posting shortly.
Looks almost like the "camo" is shadows from the container you have it sittin in
I thought these were supposed to be the same size as the Forum Special SERT Pack. Are they not?
So there seems to be a lot of demand for the two tone rip stop packs. I don't want to one of those guys who "grabs the last cookie" since I didn't preorder a two tone rip stop. But at what point would I be able to order one without feeling guilty?
I thought it was supposed to be smaller. I have the original SERT forum pack, and it is a little big for my everyday needs. That's why I am so excited about this one.
It does look a bit smaller It looks like I'd like the fit
Do you want me to do a quick comparison in pictures? Long as you promise not to nag about the mess around here.
Sure! What mess?
Seeing as how the bag has been available to order for 3+ weeks I'd say your safe to order. I say this as some one who pre-ordered and then actually ordered a two-tone.
It is definitely smaller. IIRC the original SERT pack is 32L and this one is 24L
Ok, here goes. Washed out a bit because the window is right there. But that was about the only way I could get some detail to show on them.
Side by side. Stuffed a blanket and some other stuff into the original pack on the left. Don't have another laptop to put into it, so...
They kinda lean in different directions. Guess the laptop puts the smaller pack into a higher weight class.
Got a lil creative. Had to use my foot and some spare paracord to attempt standing them both as straight as possible. As you can hopefully see, the original SERT pack has a bit more in the way of expandability. I forgot to take off its compression straps, too. D'oh!
Here's the straps. The EVADE has more comfy straps, if a bit fussy to get on. I'm in the habit of flipping the pack onto my back, sometimes get one too many spins on it. One last thing of note, the EVADE's carry handle is better suited to carrying the thing. More towards the center rather than an edge so it carries easier.
