Hi, I was in my local REI yesterday and they have four different sizes of their prepackaged FAK's. Anyone have any experience with these? Wanted opinions before buying, considering the $25 model. Thanks.

They are highly praised by outdoor communities. I have the $54 one for backpacking.
But since they aren't trauma kit, depends on your activities, you might want to carry a small trauma kit along with it.

I have the $25 model and $35 models. Both I have removed items from and added items to. Great kits to build from IMO

I keep the REI Backpacker weekend kit in each car and one in the house. Good enough more the most common injuries.

Adding a few items improves the utility of any FAK based upon your personal skill and needs.

Big fan. They are a great start. Add what you need.

I got the $25 Backpacker weekend kit and am happy with it so far. Thanks to all. What items did you add to it?

I added some Dramamine, Tylenol, better scissors, additional bandages, gloves and mouth barrier device.

I don't have much experience with their FAKs, but I do own several of their keychain CPR masks and also have purchased several of the lifeguard packs/items for use at work and to keep around the house.

Edit: I've had a very positive experience with the items I have purchased from them.

I personally build my own based on what I know will be essential and what isn't. But for $25 you can't go wrong if your looking for a good base platform, with the option to add essentials later on.
