Anyone know where I can find a set of red grimlocs?

My bag is primarily red and I'd rather they just blend in.

The closest I've been able to find is orange.

i don't see anything like that; I would have thought there would be EMT-styled grimlocs, but no luck. One thing you could try is to get some red shrink tubing and then heat shrink a couple of shrink tube sections to each grimloc. Not ideal, but it might work.

I would have thought for sure someone would make all kinds of colors already, especially as mentioned for EMT or FAK release.

I have carabiners on the bag now. Primary use is to "lock" the zipper pulls and/or hold a hydroflask. They are a pain though as when I'm with the family there is always something someone needs. I figured the grimloc would be easier given it's either open or closed; I'm not trying to hold a gate open and fumble a flexible pull around to get it in/out. The Vault looks similar but I wonder if it's the same end result as the carabiner.

The grimloc is also smaller and "less threatening" to TSA as I've heard issues with TSA throwing a fit over carabiner used as knuckles and not allowing them.

LMFAO. I travel constantly with carabiners. You've heard wrong.

Not really. I over-generalize TSA to represent all airport security but the point remains the same. Many people have had carabiners confiscated; perhaps more so with international travel but again...

    30 countries, no carabiners lost.

Have you personally had carabiners confiscated or are you just blowing smoke?

I'm not interested in starting some debate over your personal travel experiences. If you know of a place to locate red grimlocs feel free to share; if not, happy travels.

I think you may underestimate how arbitrary and capricious TSA can be.

No, because as ridiculous as TSA theater is, they’ve never taken anything from me that wasn’t clearly outside of their plainly written rules. Rest assured that they’ve had hundreds of chances.

The paranoia is largely unfounded in 2018.

I fly about fifty times a year, and I would say about 5% of the time I see or experience the TSA doing something completely off-the-wall squirrel-poop nuts. But I've never had them threaten to take the carabiner mounted on my GR1.

These threads remind me of the gray man nonsense. The overwhelming statistical evidence is that you can fly with carabiners pretty much anywhere in the world. Of course there are odd occasions where you rub some security jackwagon the wrong way and they scrutinize you, or maybe they had a bad morning. At the end of the day, these instances are extremely rare compared to the thousands of people traveling with all sorts of items that some of the Nervous-Nellies on this site would have the populace believe was certainly going to get confiscated.

Hell, the most excitement I've ever had was a bunch of pre-workout powder in a small nalgene bottle setting off the sniffer machine. After about 15 minutes, myself and my pre-workout powder were on our merry way.

I can find red plastic carabiners and Nite-Ize S-biners, but no Grimlocs. I don't think you're going to find one.

I like the grimloc for the open or closed feature... Rather, you don't need continuous tension to keep it open. With the carabiner I find one handed operation (trying to hold open, loop a zipper pull in/out, etc) to be annoying; especially when I'm carrying multiple people's items and they all want a drink 3 minutes apart from one another.

I may just need to bite the bullet and go grey.
