Wow, now that's what I'd call a necro post.

But if you want such a knife, better google for CH Tianyi, it's available un many surface treatments and colors on the big platforms for around $50.
Kubey is just a rebrand without extra value except their stamp on it.

Edit: But on second thought, it's the poster's first message here, so it could be simple advertisement...

Man o man, tough question to answer!

My most often carried knife is a SAK Huntsman. I know this doesn't meet the OP's criteria since it isn't a locking blade, but it is on me just about every day, together with usually two others. I generally make sure I have at least one knife with about a 3" blade and a complementary knife that rides in my coin pocket. I also just about always have one of these two with a SE blade.

I guess for the approximately 3" blade I really like any of these:

    > BM mini-griptilian
    > BM 530 Pardue
    > Spyderco PM2
    >Spyderco Sage 1

For the small companion blade with SE grind I lean towards these:

    > Spyderco Ladybug Hawk, H1 steel, SE (this one locks)
    > Spyderco ClipiTool, VG steel, with SE secondary blade (this one does NOT lock)

Not that these choices should be construed as diminishing my enjoyment from the other 45+ blades!

    L'chaim!

I did an incredible amount of research on my last several purchases. I considered locking mechanisms, scale material, blade steel, and user happiness. I have a Delica 4, Manix 2, and ZT 0566. My research didn't disappoint with any of them.
