Daughter just started college and I'd like to get her a cheap little light to clip on her lanyard with her ID. What are the best choices for cheap and reliable?

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

Perhaps Fenix E01 or E05? Small and long lasting and inexpensive.

Just get one of those little LED keychain lights. You can buy them for less than $1/ea. (usually come in packs of 10) on the Interwebz. They're super bright, last forever and are light as a feather. They're about the size of a nickel (and weigh about the same). I have one on every keychain and lanyard I own (and that's a bunch).

Plus, they come in white, green, blue and white (light).

I also carry a feenix E01 in my pocket, but I think this would be too heavy to put on a lanyard. It'd be smacking into things all day. I wear about (20) badges on my lanyard because of where I work and don't need any more weight added to it, it's bad enough as it is.

Def nitecore tube, it's a great light, very light ( i.e. not heavy) and it's USB rechargeable.

Streamlight Nano might fit the bill--tiny, lightweight, pretty durable, and multiple color choices. I keep one on my nightstand. (If she's likely to need more than 10 lumens, you'll probably want to go with one of the previously suggested options.)

Another option is the County Comm-style clip on LEDs: she could clip it on her belt or purse or backpack, etc.

Photon X-Light Micro… It can ramp up and dim down by holding as well as click on. Honestly the best keychain light I have ever used. After I got one, my lady, my friends, my dad and his friend all got one and love them. And you can't beat the under $9 price.

I wouldn't get the Streamlight Nano for these reasons:
    - uses non-standard disc batteries
    - the rotation to turn on/off is a pain
    - the one I had would flicker off/on when my car keys brushed against it in my pocket
