Just picked up one of these:

    Seems pretty fast.

Seems fairly robust and even waterproof to a certain degree.

My 10 month old son has used it as a chew toy already with no ill effects.

I have two of their 4Gb models and before that I carried a 1Gb. Despite the minimalist design and the exposed connectors mine have proven themselves to be tough and reliable. I keep one in my wallet and the other in a vest pocket.

Interesting design, is there 4 bare contacts on the other side?

first time seeing something like this, but then again I haven't looked up USB flash drives since the time when I bought my sandisk cruzer micro 1GB when it first came out, it cost me $200 smackers. I've used it for about 4 years with no ill effects :idiot2: :luck:

Yeah, 4 bare contacts on the other side.

    No LED lights or anything.

I have one of those Sandisk SD memory cards that converts into a USB port and it has a tiny LED to indicate activity.

i saw a link a few weeks ago where someone had one of those, trimmed the plastiic down and fitted it inside a usb extension cable, then cut the end of the cable and frayed it
made for a wierd looking USB drive

personally i just carry a 2gb XD card, i have a card reader at work, and at home, and they seem to have held up in my wallet ok, they are a little slow though

If you wanted to fit this flash drive into something else as a project or whatever, this unit is perfect.
It has a cover over it, I guess to provide the hole for the keychain ring.

The actual working part is even a bit smaller than in the photo.
