In Germany camping in the wilderness is not allowed. So there are some special places where it´s explicit allowed. Yesterday I visited such a place close to our home. Very nice. If my daughter (7 years) still want we will have a night in the wood in the spring time. Would be very exciting.
Nice! I'm very interested, as a scoutsleader we often camp in the wild, we have similar spots in the netherlands: (https://sites.google.com/site/paalkampeerders) And belgium: (http://www.bivakzone.be/) And in france there is a loophole that allows wild camping. But untill now we took our chances with the german "gesetz" If you have any links to these sites that would be greatly appreciated!!! Feundlichem gruss von den Nachbarn!
Jakala I found this camp place on the German website Wildes Schleswig-Holstein (link). Wildes just means wild and Schleswig-Holstein is the northern province in Germany where I live. Unfortunately this website is available in German language only. There are some general rules for these places: It´s for nature lovers so you have to arrive by foot or by bicycle. It´s for spending one night and maximum three person. And certainly you have to leave it clean again. The places are very different. Some of them like the one near to my home (Segeberger Heide) are in the forest, sometimes it´s just a lawn near a farm. At some places you are allowed to have BBQ or you can get fresh water or there are toilets close-by. Very variable. These are the general rules. I´m sure by getting in contact with the owners of some places they may lower the rules, especially if it´s private property, but I can´t promise. The different camp places are shown here (link) ... Most likely! I had some business in that area, spot the beauty, stop my car, grab my camera and shot. I have forget about this one until recently when sorting out my 2016 pictures
