I'm planning an overnight kayak trip and will be sleeping in my hammock. I want to get a lightweight rainfly or tarp of some sort to keep any rain off me. I see some expensive ones marketed for just this purpose but hoping someone can point me to an economical yet equally effective solution.

    Thanks

Check out Chill Gorilla on Amazon. Cheap and decent. Not ultralight backpacking quality but it'll do the trick. Should have options that include stakes and tie offs but if you really want some cool gadgets check out the titanium tensioners and tie offs and such from dutchware gear.

About the easiest solution is to go to harbor freight and just get a cheap tarp.

I haven't bought any mass produced hammock gear is about 10 years. Economical and effective for me was to start making my own gear.
