I am impossibly far behind on a couple of things so don't have time to research this so I hope someone knows what I should do.

I thought the phone was broken but figured out that it isn't.

It is an old Razr, I think it is older than the forum.

The reason I thought it was broken was I was not able to hear anything and the other person could not hear me. I finally realized it was on speaker phone, well it really does not work on speaker phone.

It is defaulting to speaker phone and I have not been able to figure out how to get it to stop doing that. It will say spkr off but as soon as a call comes in it is in spkr on.

MITS been a while since I had a razr but somewhere in there is like an accessibility options menu (for hard of hearing folk) this activates the speaker phone when the phone rings.

Find that and shut it off

I am not familiar with that model, but try a set of earphones.

not ideal, but if it keeps your phone in service, .........

According to Motorola's PDF on the Razr you are supposed to be able to press the speaker key during the call to turn on /off the speaker.
According to different websites, there are different models. Some have a speaker button above the volume buttons, but some have the button on the screen during the call.

I've also read that you can scroll through the menu t the "tools", select it, and then select "speaker".
    -OR-
Someone said the menu selection for setting the phone to answer on speaker when you flip it open way be it too...
Menu, settings, sound, Flip for speaker box. (I guess you uncheck it)

Some people have had the issue after installing an APP. When they un-installed it went away.

Also, someone has said that their usb had debris in it and the phone thought it was docked. Clean it out or blow it out.

One guy even stored a stylus in the headphone jack and that was causing him problems:eek:

Is it one of the old flip phones (Razr V3)? This is what I still use...

According to my booklet you can turn the speaker on/off with the button below the volume adjustment button(s), or you could have the auto answer
in the car settings turned on (this is kinda what it sounds like) try SETTINGS > CAR SETTINGS or HEADSET > AUTO ANSWER on/off.
