I recently ordered Mr Pry by congent industries impulsively. My question is, are these type of tools worth it for the regular general person? So many of you have an edc prying tool?

I carry one because if I didn't, I'd be tempted to use my knife to pry something apart (NOOOOOOO!!! Knives do not make good pry bars!). The one I've got on my keyring is key shaped and also serves as a screwdriver.

NiteIze Doohickey on pocket dangler; also a small CountyCom Ti widgy pry tool on the same dangler. Larger version of the CountyCom Ti widgy tool resides in admin pouch in my edc bag.

I think it is just one of those tools which will come in handy at some point. A simple thing but saves a lot of frustration when all you want to do is open a can or create enough gap to grip your fingers into, when pulling something apart.

They are definitely worth it, so much so that I generally carry two. I wouldn't pry, scrape, drive screws, or do many other icky tasks with a knife and the prybar gets them done much easier. Also, mini-prybars can go places knives aren't allowed and can do many of the things knives are used for. I generally use mine at least once a day. I always have the CRKT KERT on my keys and carry either a Boker Toucan or a County Comm 4 in. Pocket widgy as well.

I've carried a Shard which was superseded by PocketWrench II, and I've recently added a Boker Minibar to this. Usage-wise, I won't use one for months then suddenly (and unpredictably!) will need one several times a week for a spell. It earns its place in my carry.

I have a couple from Griffin Tools. Do I use them often? Nope. How often do I have to fire my weapon? I never have in self defense but I still carry it because you never know when you'll need it. I agree with other posters. It performs a task that should never be done with a knife.

I keep a prybar in my Skinth on the righthand side. Use it almost every day at work for panel/guard screws and quick cleaning pulleys. Used to be an STR titanium prybar but that got misplaced (prob left in a machine) and never came back. Now it's a CountyComm steel mini prybar. And a PocketWrench II as a backup.

I tried one, a cut down $5 cheapie from Home Depot, just to see if I would use it. It was on my keychain for 6 months and didn't use it even once. I really like the looks of some of the nicer Atwoods and others but don't need anything else on my keychain or in my pocket. I always have a SAK and folder on me and to this point these 2 have covered what I needed done, different strokes. I know, I'm in the wrong thread and will show myself out....

Following up with a picture of my prybar in use. Just happened to think about it at random, idle time at work. Actually DID need to use it on that screw, the last guy that was at the machine must've cranked it down.

I was removing the belting to put new ones on for the entire section. Been about a month and they were showing wear unbecoming of one of my machines. :D

I have one on my work keychain but not my regular one. I work in a datacenter and it does get some use, usually as a cable-remover because chassis designers like putting the cable locking tabs in places your fingers can't fit. Only rarely is it actually used for real prying, like when a lid is stuck.
