BTW, what you see on the blade isn't coating wear, but aluminium "deposit" over the coating :)

I must criticize you now, do you have a $10 metal saw? I don't see the point of abusing a knife, when there are a lots of other (and much cheaper) tools to be used with their intended purpose? A $400+ knife won't be better for prying than a $20 pry bar, won't be better for screwing screws than a $2 screwdriver, won't be better to cut wood/metal than $10 wood/metal saw, and finally won't be a better cutter than $10 or $20 traditional thin knife. I can't believe how people are thinking about stuff. Yes, it can be replaced/resharpened under a warranty, but for those money I'll buy 10 pry bars, 10 screwdrivers, 10 wood and metal saws, and 10 Victorinox, Opinel or Mora knives that will outperform the knife above in slicing and cutting, also I'll have better tools for less money. Yes, it's only one item in place of bulky 3-4 things I have to carry, but what if you lose that knife? Can in be replaced under it's warranty? I must admit, I've abused couple of knives (not prying tho), but they cost less than $100 in total, and they are still working fine.

I understand what you mean and I respect your point of view.
    BUT :
    - I don't abuse my knives, at least those I dedicated to hard use. Do you really think that 1/4" thick piece of S30V looks to be abused ? Not me
    - Of course there are plenty of tools that pry and cut stuff better than the DB, but it's here when I need it. "The best tool is the one you have in your pocket." I work as a process engineer and quality manager, and it means I can't afford to wear cargos, so I tend to be very minimalist on the EDC I carry. But, in the other hand, I work for a very small company, so I often have to perform tasks my work title doesn't "normally" include and have to be fast (60 hours/week isn't my goal in life, especially for how much I earn), and that's why I need (or want) tools that can perform any task I put to them.
    - Finally, the most "abused" (and I'd say just "used") knives I got are my folders. After few years they're still real fine, no blade play, no sticky locks, no lock rocks.

That being said, I'm pretty sure you're still not convinced, but that's life :D

I'm trying to understand, but I don't see the utility of having a prybar on my keychain? I'm not knocking anyone for having one, but I haven't come across anything in my everyday life that i needed to pry open or off except for a bottle cap and I use the bottle opener on my Victorinox for that. Maybe stapled pages? But I use a staple remover for that. I guess it depends what kind of work you do? Is it a work tool or do people really end up having to pry stuff in their everyday lives alot?

Just trying to undertand. Maybe I'm missing out on something.

I use the CountyCom Ti widgy bars; one of the micro widgy bars on my keys and a couple of the 4" ones in pouches in a couple of bags. I don't have any significant prying needs, so these work great for me.

Anyone know of a good zirconium prybar? I've been searching for a zirconium TAD/Anso Go For Tool for a hot minute, but haven't been able to find anyone selling to save my life.
