Camelbak Urban Assault for work, unless I feel like carrying a sling, in which case it's a Hazard 4 Switchback. For a grab and go bag for weekends/around town, I usually take my Lunada.
Tried em all. Even a sorta saddlebag, M40/42 gas mask carrier. I just can't find love for the one-strap bag. So yes, two straps are my go to.
Maxpedition Fatboy is my most often carried bag, with a Jumbo coming in second. Thinking about putting together a backpack, but I don't carry quite enough stuff for it. And if carrying a purse is good enough for Roland of Gilead, it's good enough for me.
An almost 10-year old Jansport Equinox 33. It's my "civilian friendly" pack. I have used others, based on need, but the Jansport hits the sweetspot for EDC.
Booq messenger for work, 2 strap pack when out with family. Rare occasion when out alone, good old fanny.
I go back and forth between a backpack and a shoulder bag. It just depends on what I am doing. If I am gallivanting around the great outdoors, then I'll use one of my backpacks. If I am going to work or driving somewhere, then I'll just bring my S.O. Tech Mission Go Bag..
Another reason why I like my Jansport (and non-clamshells in general) - you can clip them to a wire fence (or anything else) and have a station to work out of. The next time I have to take my bag to our data cage, I'll take a picture to illustrate what I'm talking about.
It's just about perfect for what I need. It's probably overkill for most people, but I never know when I'm going to have to schlep around 3 or 4 extra laptops, so I need the extra space.
I've been using the Tactical Tailor Urban Operator. It really holds up and is constructed well. It's got enough room to carry pretty much whatever you'd like. If it isn't packed that much, it is able to stay somewhat slim. I'm really enjoying it so far. Really basic backpack, but really quality materials.
I alternate between the MOAB 6 and the MOAB 10. I also use it for my lunches at work. I prefer it to a messenger or backpack because it doesn't look like it can carry a computer and I don't WANT to carry too much stuff. I walked all over the Vegas strip with the MOAB6 and nobody gave me a second glance. (Not even entering shops or casino floors.) I prefer the sling bag because I can easily move it to the front for security, access, or being seated.
It depends. I mostly use a messenger bag, a Karrimor one I picked up a few years ago. I also use a Maxpedition Mongo s-type. For work, I use a Maxpedition Kodiak for going to and from, and a Neatfreak at work for working on the flightline. It holds all the bits and pieces I like to have handy when I'm out working, although I've just bought an EDC versipack to replace it. It should arrive soon
