Well, I came home from a weekend away and had a package in my mailbox. I almost thought it was junk mail because the envelope was smaller than a #10. But it was heavier so I checked it out and it was from Pocketweez!
I apologize in advance, but my DSLR battery isn't charged so I took all the pics with my phone.
I ripped the envelope open and out came a letter and a small folded package.
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]">[IMG]
The small package felt a bit like a matchbook, and was folded over like one.

A few pics with a ruler for size reference

Finally next to the Tweezerman folding clippers

The fit and finish on these things is great. Very solid lockup in open and closed position. The tips are very sharp and the grip outdoes Uncle Bill's by a bunch when I tried them on pulling out a hair by the root.
I'd say these guys are well worth the $25. I'll be carrying them attached to my Tweezerman clippers daily.

Hope the review helps! Lemme know if you have any questions or more pic requests.

What is the handle block made of? Is it aluminum?

How much does the whole thing weigh?

I believe it is aluminum, it feels like it from a weight perspective but its not very "dent-able" so I'm not totally positive.

    They weigh next to nothing!
They are a little bigger than the Tweezermans but might even feel a bit lighter.

My only concern was that they would come open in my pocket and stab me but it looks as if there actually lock in place. Is that the case?

Ditto. That's a big issue right there.

They do look impressive though. Lanyard hole and everything. Uncle Bill's is a hard act to follow (I love mine), but this one may just be the new champ on the block.

These things would take a lot to come open in your pockets.
There are two sets of detents on the tweezer section one at the head and one on either side of the pivot (you can see them in the pic above where they are open at 90 degrees) that lock the tweezer into place.
The whole frame acts as a compression spring to keep the tweezers either open or closed.

Thanks for the review! They look like a great product. Your pictures do a much better job showing what the product is like than the ones on the site. I will be ordering soon!

    Yup!
The edges are all rounded off on the frame and they are nice and light and maneuverable. The gripping part has two different profiles so if you hold them upside down you get a slightly different gripping pattern.

Where did you read that the deal ended at Xmas?

I added the 5 for $100 and it let me get all the way to Paypal check out. It looks as if the deal is still a go.

Don't take this the wrong way...but who needs $25 tweezers, let alone 5 pair? You can get really nice tweezers for around $5.

Well there's two answers to this questions.
First: "Who needs a Sebenza or Emerson or Strider when you can buy a hardware store knife for $5?"

Second: I've got a pair of the CC/UncleBill's/AG Russell tweezers, Norman Schwarzkopf may like them, but I don't. They don't hold a candle to the build quality, fit, form or especially function of the Pocketweez. I haven't successfully pulled an ingrown hair or splinter with the CC tweezers on the first try yet, but I have with the pocketweez. Waaay better grip.

If you don't want 'em, don't buy 'em. :)

I have just e-mailed the owner to see if a group buy is feasible or if he'd be interested in selling through Jon. I'll keep y'all informed.
