Ever since I got my PWII there was one bug bear I had with its overly simplistic design, it's the rounded pry bar end which does exactly only that and has only one function.

So instead of scr3wing my own PWII I decided to order one of those EDC Gear $2.50 jobbies from an Asian web site, to play with and experiment.

It's really a straight forward mod so no reason why others couldn't achieve the same, in case they're keen on the whole idea of course :)

Now the previous single-function pry-bar end comes with 5 functions - pry-bar, scraper, nail-puller, flat-head screwdriver and box cutter. I like this mod so much I will most likely repeat it on my genuine PWII.

I like it. The PW2 prybar end is almost useless. Also, that finish is noice!

If you do mod the PW2 please share pics cause I might do that to my 2.

No probs. This time I may try leaving the pry tips a little longer, just as an option.

Nah, my setup is very simple, all done by hand. Back when I started with tool modding etc I originally used youtube for inspiration and tips, the rest of it is just experimenting with different rocks and durations, really.

Sweet, the finish you got is great! I wanna look into it one day, I'm glad this can be achieved in home conditions. I'd appreciate any details of your setup/process.

Great work! I love doing projects like this.
I've done some stonewashing in a plastic peanut butter jar... lol... but how do you acid wash? Process, materials, etc.

Decided to give v2.0 a go, this one sports slightly longer pry bar ends. The shorter one (v1) is primarily a scraper then everything else, the longer (v2) is a pry bar first then scraper etc.

I also managed to bust my neighbor's file in the process although not as bad as mine so for a $5 investment in parts I am now faced with spending $25 on two new files ::) ???

I really need to do some homework on different file types, hardness and materials they're made of.

Nice ! How does the steel of those asian tools compare with the original model ? Is the hardness the same ?

Very cool, Babola. Now I wanna make one!

It'd be way rougher than yours - I only have a bench grinder and a dremel to work with....

Nice! Love the idea and looking at it now makes me wonder why they didn't do that off the bat. You've got a nice finish on that too, excellent!
