last week a buddy comes by and shows off his new sabercat bag..

so i quickly check it over and start to compare it against my lunada bag..
its a pretty cool bag and he added a maxP shoulder strap to, and that was a real good idea..

its pretty good for shoulder carry as well as hand carry via the bags handle.. as always it is not as big
as one would expect from seeing pictures and going by measurements

anyways, while searching thru the contents and the layout i see a small book.. pull it out and its the maxpedition
Pocket Ref by Thomas J. Glover.. i was amazed how much information is in that book. and i seems like
material just about anyone can use and need...

so im wondering how many have this book and if you really use it, and edc it too..

I carry it. I use it mainly to look up ISO 2 letter and 3 letter country and currency codes. I probably could replace it with an app on one of my portable devices and ideally, someday there will be an official Pocket Ref app.

I EDC a copy, it is full of all kinds of information. I also have the some of the other volumes in the series. I am an information junkie, and a voracious reader.

I have my Grandfather's copy of international Machinist Handbook dated 1924 which is similar to the pocket reference. It covers everything from welding to general first aid. I thought about getting a pocket reference book myself after reading through his book.

Heck yes I do. I have two bags I used, one for work and the other for weekends. I have a copy in each. Great information, and a fun read.

The previous edition I had the larger version (Desk Ref) for home use. I still may get one or wait until I get an E-Reader. Guess what's going to be an early purchase for that will be.

What sorts of information are in these books, and is it something I can pick up at most Borders or B&N?

Yep, have one on my desk at work.

I had a hard time finding it at the book store, it was under 'trivia'. Go figure.

I don't EDC, but I do keep a copy in my truck. I have one at home as well in case I want to carry it, but so far I haven't carried it.
