So, I plan to go through this thread as soon as I have time, and before anyone says it yes I'm sure my question is probably answered somewhere in the depths of this thread, but I'd like to ask for some recommendations. What I'm looking for is a good quality pocket-sized notebook with dotted pages, I recently found a few larger notebooks with them and realized the genius of having dotted rather than graph paper! I'd like something that has pages that can be turned/left in AND/OR removed (which rules out most of the Moleskin notebooks), and it needs to either have a hard cover or a removable cover as it will probably be subjected to a fair amount of abuse. I'm a person who values quality and workmanship, so I don't mind paying a bit extra to have something that uses good materials and is well made. Any suggestions?
This weekend I picked up a couple Leuchtturm1917 Reporter Notepad Pocket (A6 or 4.13" × 5.83") pad for keeping daily notes at work. The books are top binded, 96 numbered pages and very fountain friendly. I have filled a few pager so far and while I prefer a side bound book for desk writing, having a top bound makes taking notes while holding it in my hand much easier.
Been using Moleskine. Going to give Field Notes a try here soon. Waiting on a my Wilde Moon Explorer cover.
Entered a sweepstakes with a tobacco company a while back & chose a free word book as my prize. Lo & behold a 3 pack came in yesterday! Have gun, Will travel.
For those interested and waiting, Alldayruckoff has posted more of the waxed canvas field notes covers. Just ordered a slate one (no patch) to replace my recycled firefighter inspector.
I believe so. If I get a chance, I will post pictures tomorrow next to a black notebook or portfolio. Just happened to use the notebook cover today. My choices came down to graphite and slate. The pictures showed graphite being a bit lighter than the slate. Thus, I took the plunge on the slate version. EDIT: here is a picture of the slate cover next to my Recycled Firefighter Tarp Sergeant on a leather portfolio.
What make and model is this? reppans Looks similar to a Filofax Guildford Mini Extra Slim, but with a pen loop.
