Has anyone tried the one from Rustic Ridge Leather (the one MCPOWoller suggests)? Could you fit a Scout Book notebook in one?

I really would like to have a leather cover for my Moleskine pocket. Can't seem to find one in The Netherlands.

When this one finally runs out of room I'm going to upgrade to the larger moleskin to make room for more detailed process and tasting notes.

I made a Midori-style cover for a Moleskine soft-cover notebook (8.25"x5") and added a paper pocket. It wasn't hard to do and it's fun to be using something I made myself. I plan to use the set up for a trip so I can have all the details of the research I'm doing ahead of time (I don't have a smart phone). I also need a space for train schedules and other small bits of paper. It was so easy to make and the leather smells so good, next I'll make something similar for my cahier-size Moleskine that I carry every day. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it and one can use vinyl if you're not into leather.

Nothing special, just a Maxped 3x5 with a UTS waterproof notebook (only one I can find locally)

I keep a fisher pen with stylus pad thingy, the pencil that came with the UTS notebook, a Browning Microblast led light, and a blackwash Kershaw leek in the inside loops. A Niteize doohickey floats around in the bigger pockets (I use a prybar more than anything else it seems).

On the back I cut down a cheap click pen to fit in the pen slots without sticking out. Disassembled it and cut equal length amounts off the pen body and the ink insert. Still long enough to use comfortably, but it does not snag like a full length pen would.

I made a mini composition book cover to also serve as a wallet. It took about three tries to get the final product, mainly because I kept wanting to make changes. I'm pretty happy with this version, but I might make a new one to incorporate some changes I've thought of.

The front cover holds two credit cards and a slim Fisher. An F-301 will fit, but insertion is a little rough what with the grip section.

The rear cover has a slot for a credit card (driver license, in this case), and a larger pocket for miscellaneous documents. I attempted to add some hook-and-loop to the rear pocket, but it didn't work (as you can see), so I removed it.

Inside, you'll find a mini composition book. I have thought about adding some pockets to hold more cards. The stitching is not pretty, but it works.

Well, what do we have here? It's a "hidden" pocket.

A Spyderco Grasshopper or Bug fits in the space nicely, though it's a little hard to extract (you have to move at least the front card, and perhaps even the pen). There's no stitching because it tends to snag on the knife. If I redo this design I might add stitching to the front pocket before adding it to the rear pocket.

I usually carry two 3.5"x5.5" notebooks with me. One is a calendar, the other for taking notes. I took a free leatherwork class at a Tandy Leather store and learned how to make a leather cover for both notebooks.

My poor battered Moleskine notebook, beautiful paper. And my pure leather diary.

Nice pen on top of your field notes. I like the integral pocket clip. What brand is it?
