how do you carry your MTN? is it full size or passport? does it fit in backpocket? do the charms get in the way?

It is passport size. I don't carry that in my back pocket. :)

However, I have this midori (Dark leather without charms) that goes anywhere including my backpocket.

I always come back to these little notebooks. Top-bound and the small size. I used the side bound ones years ago when I was in the military. I order these now from amazon. This size works the best for me in different sized back pockets. This particular one is fairly new. Pictured with my fisher space pen.

This Levenger pocket briefcase has spent 15+ years riding in my right cargo pocket (first BDUs, then ACUs, now Vertx):

Inside, among other things, is the Cross ballpoint I received as a high school graduation present in 1981. I tend to hold onto things for a while...

@ crusader. Can you break down what you are carrying in your second notebook. I am on the cusp of getting a new rig and had actually ruled out travelers notebooks until I saw yours.

    Here you go...

I clipped a riteintherain notepad on the leather cover
    [IMG]

The clip also act as the pen holder.

The plastic card slots and the blank pages notebook (come with the travellers)

Last, a small envelope to hold any pages from the riteintherain (if any). The plastic zipper pocket.

    Crusader,
where did you get that brass card-mount that you have on the Midori's cover? Reminds me of what was on the front of the old library card catalogs....

    Thanks!

Well, thanks to this thread, I'm going to have some explaining to do when the mail arrives Monday. But I can't wait for my Midori.

I don't reckon you'll be too disappointed. It's a simple notebook in reality, but it just has this rustic charm that's hard to ignore. Check out the Midori group on Flickr if you want more ideas.
