I always carry a small AAA light (Olight I3E or Fenix E01) regardless of how many other lights I might be carrying or have close at hand. Free time and weekends, it functions as a back up. For work, especially if it's a shirt & tie day, it is usually the only light I am carrying. It sees quite a bit of use.

I am an early riser and use my Fenix EO5 on a daily basis to avoid tripping over pets and furniture while the rest of the household is asleep. This AAA flashlight is bullet proof: tiny with 3 intensities (8, 25 & 85 lumens), IPX-8 rated and a foolproof switch controlled by twisting the head (preventing accidental activation). As a veteran I follow the K.I.S.S. principle and value equipment that is light and simple to operate.

I consider a dedicated light source as the second most important part of my EDC (#1 is a blade). It only took one unexpected power outage to prove it’s value.

    I use mine quite often.

I used to not carry a flashlight on me since I dont like having bulky pockets, but i have a lumintop tool aaa that is 600 lumens but with many modes, I have it programmed to low and turbo.

I use it several times a week. Doesn't take up a lot of space but glad it's there when I need it.

I carry a FourSevens Mini MKII with me. It too bulky for my keychain, but off, it not bad. I keep it on it own keyring with a delrin battery locker from countycomm with an extra cr123 battery.

Typically I use my flashlight at least once a day. Usually first thing in the morning to navigate my bedroom to not wake my wife. It’s much easier to grab and use than the light on my phone.

Most days I carry an Olight I3T in copper. Love the lower lumens.

Being a moderator myself on a different forum, I would assume also EDCF moderators prefer if you use the report function ;-)

Totally agree. The only way I could figure out to use the report function was to initiate from a post. So after entering my post above, I then reported my own post... Awkward but I'm glad it worked out!

You can do that, or you can report any existing post in the thread. When you report a post, you get an opportunity to explain why you are reporting it.

Now mostly my aluminum Peak with Mule head. Single mode and level 4 output; plenty of light for my needs.
Sometimes the little guy on the keychain too. Love Mules.

I just received the Maratac 2x AAA titanium penlight. It's pretty nice and my first clicky. It is my 6th Maratac and I'm happy with all of them.

I actually retired my 3 year old Fenix UC01 recently. Works fine still but it's beat up.

I'll likely replace it with a Sofirn C01.

I have never heard of this little jewel - high CRI, two simple, well-spaced modes, a usable clip, and a trit slot!? Excellent set of features!

FWIW the standard version of the C01S starts in hi & then switches to low. The BLF edition starts in low then hi. My understanding is that when the current batch sells out they will switch to hi - low as the default on further production.

As for the clip, unless they have changed it quite a bit on the newest lights I wouldn't call it usable. Every one I've had was soft and bent easily. The very first batch of the C01 had improper heat treat, but even the clips on the later C01S lights the issue wasn't entirely resolved.
