In 1972 a crack Commando unit was sent to prison for a crime they didn't commit. Upon their arrival at a Maximum Security Military Stockade, these men promptly escaped into the United States' underground where they are still wanted today.
So, if you have a plumbing problem, and no one seems to be able to help.
    Maybe you can ask...the A-team. *rat-at-atat-tatat!

Okay...seriously. I get a lot of questions regarding problems with plumbing. I mean, on the Forum. Obviously, I get a lot of questions. However, for my friends on the Forum I answer questions for free:D

So, rather than having a dozen separate convos about similar topics, I thought I'd start a thread in the Breakroom.

If you have a question/plumbing problem feel free to ask here. Maybe the answers I, or others, give you will help other Members:)

Go ahead...ask. I've been doin' this a while;)

EDITED TO ADD: By A-team I mean the Plumbers of EDCF. I don't assume I have all of the answers and I know there are at least two more licensed plumbers on EDCF:)
They are welcome to chime in anytime.

    "builder's grade".

Gerber has the best flush rating in the industry right now. American Standards are made in Mexico and I have been having quality control issues with them. Kohler is decent and made in Wisconson.

What's the weirdest thing you have found in a drain? I mean I know you gotta have something? We had a pipe under the sink that needed replaced at my grandmas house like 2 years ago. We removed the old PVC and when we dumped it out came a small earring. My grandma said she wondered where that was. Lol :))

    Dear Mr. Plumber,
The tubing that supplies my fridge with water for ice is about 10 years old. How often should the tubing be replaced?
It's about 12 feet from water pipe to fridge and I don't want to come home to a flooded house.

    Best regards,
    Mr. Montani

Had "water saving" toilets when we bought our home in 1999, had to flush at least twice for them to work. Out came the razor knife and cut the sides out of the bucket like water saving things in the tank, they worked better but not great. Someday new ones but not the head of my list yet.

Waiting on an expert but you should be OK unless a hole gets worn in it or a fitting fails, soft or rubber tubing would be bad IMHO. Hope SAKp doesn't smack me for speaking out:( . I think he is sleeping right now so we'll hear from him tomorrow.:)

Not a plumber but I did do apt maintenance for 6 years. the weirdest things I pulled was a partial denture from a toilet floor pipe. A tenant called and said her partials had gone down the toilet. I thought she meant round the bend but no it was in the floor pipe. A long arm glove and flashlight and the owner and partials were reunited. I hope she sterilized them before use.

Second weird thing was a nipple ring from a bath drain. Apparently she has scrubbed to vigorously and it popped out and down the drain. It was one of a matched pair and she didn't want to break up the pair.

Thanks very much for this opportunity!

I've been wondering about whether or not I should replace the hoses to the washing machine.
Current hoses are about 10 years old.
No leaks are happening... The question is more of a prevention thing.
And what type of hose should I replace with?

    Thanks again!
