I love carrying the Pioneer , more than the Farmer ... even though the Farmer is not so much larger and heavier ... but every time I carry the Pioneer I need the saw ... How do you people live with these options?
I actually just got my first pioneer yesterday. So far I like it a lot. Honestly I don't think I have ever actually needed a saw. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Pioneer X since I use scissors far more than a saw and I always have a multi tool with a saw on me anyway. Prior to the X coming out, I carried a Pioneer or Soldier most of the time
How do I live with these options? By having pants with more than one pocket. No law says you can't carry both. And a few others as well. My vote was Farmer for the saw. I use the saw way more often than I even think about using scissors. I'm pretty sure I use a corkscrew more often than scissors.
I'll second the pioneer x. For me it's the perfect edc sak. I have a farmer too but just don't have much use for a saw in my day to day. You could always get a huntsman and call it a day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I use the Pioneer X. I very rarely need a saw in day to day use. If I'm going out into the woods I have a different pocket load.
I've got the PX as well but I must say I really dislike it - the only Vic I regret buying - in fact I'm selling it right now.EDIT: SOLD. The nailnick position really annoys the *beep* outta me ... And I do have the Huntsman but I've developed symptoms of the alox pox ...
What I want, and there is sweet FA chance that Victorinox will produce it, is an Alox with Saw and sissors. It would sell very well indeed.
Been a fan of the Farmer for twenty years and have a few on the cars and daypack for outdoor activities, for EDC I find the need for scissors to out weight the need for a saw.
Farmers hands down. Much more comfortable in hand, and the saw is a plus for me. Have always one in my pockets. And other 32 in collection... ;-)
I carry the Pioneer daily just because I like the look and feel. I used to carry a medium stockman daily ( sometimes still do) but the Pioneer is the same size with more options. I carry a Farmer when hiking because I'm always looking for new growth saplings to cut for the walking sticks I make.
I carry the pioneer because it is smaller/lighter. For everyday edc I don't need the saw. If I'm in the bush I usually have a dedicated saw or MT with a woodsaw on it.
