My new favorite bag. Takes a full size laptop and all my work bits, tools and books. The full story over here https://www.edcforums.com/threads/shoulder-messenger-bag-finished.135856/
Just got a new TAD EDC in black on the left for my daily carry/work needs. Im really digging it so far! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Switched over to the grid flux. Making my system more compartmentalized makes switching bags easier. Tomorrow if I get a few I'll do a breakdown of what's inside
My Evade has been doing the trick for several months now. Love this thing so much more than my old messenger style bags. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Newbie here. I'm a RN living in SW VA. I got the EDC bug a long time ago after I got out of the Army. My wife and her family thought it odd that I always had a backpack with me, but I just like being prepared for anything...and with 3 younger kids, I always like to carry drinks/food for them. Anyways I'm looking forward to learning some tips on making the most of my EDC items from this forum. I use the Mystery Ranch urban assault on my days off and for the gym. It took me a while to downsize to only REALLY ESSENTIAL stuff to fit in this tiny pack since I was carrying a Goruck GR2, a Tom Bihn Brain bag, or a Mission Workshop messenger previously. But I'm glad I did cause I don't accidentally hit peeps with it now that I have a much smaller pack ... This is my latest for work. TAD light speed v2. I put some Dunamis gear long pockets on the sides, a Kifaru 1000d pouch on the front and so far it's working great. I was using either the GR2, a Tom Bihn Brain bag, an ATS Raid 2, or a 1st gen TAD/Maxpedition fast pack sometimes for work, but was carrying too much un-needed crap and finally bit the bullet on the light speed. I'm exploring this forum to figure out what to with the transporter tail. I removed it cause it was on my way, but I really like the look of it on the bag. I'm Loving a lot of the packs I'm seeing so far here!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know what you mean. There were no pics at all, but I saw one used for sale and took a leap of faith. This is the urban assault bag. Here you go... Top compartment: Front: As a top loader. The zipper holds the back plate and is too tight to fit anything but maybe some mail: Opened up you see 2 interior pouches which are big enough for an iPad and a small laptop, but are not padded: 2 zippered mesh pockets: The bottom has a single row of PALS webbing. Excuse the Pitbull hair...it's from my "shadow", Jordan, Back and straps: And there's room for a small belt to be run through the lower part here along with some webbing on the sides: If it had PALS webbing on the outside, it'd be perfect. I love the look, size and comfort of this bag and I think it's well worth the cost even new. I'd love to know if I can get this modded somewhere reasonably and by someone reliable to put about 3 x 2 rows of PALS webbing on the upper sides of this for me. Any hints on that ? The runner and carabiners help load into overhead bins and when placing the pack into the passenger seat when I enter my vehicle. Goruck at the Great Wall of China.
I just got an Arcteryx Arro 22 after looking for a non-tactical everyday/hiking bag. Its definitely different than any other pack I've had. It's cross-section is a triangle, rather than a rectangle and has almost no internal organization other than the separation form the front pocket and the main one. It'll take some getting used to but hopefully it grows on me IMG_5111[1] by Micah Uchida, on Flickr
All packed and ready to go to.... ....Starved Rock, Utica Illinois -- Wildcat Canyon -- LaSalle Canyon
Been using my new Cannae Pro Gear Legion Pack for about 2 weeks now and its by far the best backpack I've ever used. The top opens in a unique "L" shaped zipper making it so easy to just flip open the top, grab what I need, and close it up. I also like how the compression straps start behind the main compartment zipper so I don't have to un-clasp them every time I want to open up the pack all the way. Ive noticed little features that I'm liking such as the female velcro all along the interior of the pack, built from REAL cordura, water bottle pocket that fits 1L nalgene bottle on each side, super comfy back and strap padding, as well as a built in "crush case" for sunglasses. This will be replacing my 5.11 Rush 12 as my edc.
New work bag. No real carry, vehicle to office and vice versa, repeat. So I went sling. Oakley Extractor. MaxP cocoon on side. Grimlocks for keepers.
