My Sitka goes with me just about everywhere. My primary use is back and forth to work, and regular short hikes and day hikes/trips. This is the basic loadout, and depending on the destination, I add or remove things to the main compartment, such as food for day hikes, a hat if it's sunny, a fleece if it's cold out, or discs for disc golfing.

1 - The pack closed up and ready to go. Stainless water bottle in pouch

    Pepper spray
    Inova X1
    Xikar Plunge Torch

    ESV bible
    Spare battery carriers containing 8aa's

8 - Main compartment front half contents

    Contents -
Glasses case with lens cloth and 4 disposable contacts
Garmin Etrex Venture CX with Topo maps for about a 700 mile radius of my location
2 spare cr2 batteries for my pocket EDC light
    zip ties
Canon SD 790 IS in neoprene case
Iphone sleeve with usb cable/wall charger.

    9 - Hydration/CCW compartment

    Contents -
Glock 17 3rd gen with Night Sights, loaded with 17+1 Hornady Critical Defense 9mm.
Spare Mag with 17 rounds FMJ(just in case I get an opportunity to do some plinking)
Maxpedition hook and loop modular holster
Maxpedition hook and loop 2x mag pouch(I could carry another mag loaded with Hornady Critical Defense, but don't to cut down on weight)

panzer, in your post 763 the black bag far left. Could you please tell me the brand and where I can find it? It looks like it says MAK-1 but google shows me nothing.

    TIA

Yes, it is. The flat shape does not stick out like a round bottle would.

    Hi!

My EDC bag is a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack S-Type:

I´m still looking for a better holster for the Fenix TK12. I prefer to wear the flashlight bezel down an with tactical ring. I think closed holsters are better in crowds of people (theft protection).

This E.D.C. Pocket Organizer is inside:

It contains pens, markers, a 6" steel ruler + Olfa Silver cutter (9 mm), rubber pen, USB stick, post-it notes and a notepad.

    Regards
    Alex

    Traderdell hope this helps,

It looks like a County Comm Bail Out Bag. I believe the MAK-1 is a separate patch attached to a velcro strip. The MAK-1 looks like a knife patch to me.

My first post - I've been using this Maxpedition Lunada as a dayhiking pack for about a year, but am looking to upgrade to something a little larger and with traditional backpack straps:

Contents for typical all-day hike in deep woods include the following (aside from food, water, and map):

    - Suunto compass
    - Petzl Tikka headlamp
    - Surefire E2L Outdoorsman flashlight
    - Rat RC-3 fixed blade knife (on exterior of pack, stays home depending on location)
    - Benchmade 950 Rift folding knife
    - Leatherman Juice Xe6 multitool
    - Benchmade field sharpener
    - Canon Powershot A630 digital camera (not much of a photographer)
    - First aid kit (homemade)
    - Water purification tablets
    - Hand sanitizer
    - Toilet paper
    - Paracord
    - Spare Batteries
    - Magnesium firestarter
    - Zippo lighter
    - Spare bootlaces
    - Spare pair of socks
    - Small notepad and pencil
    - Emergency poncho
    - iPod
    - Bandana
    - Whistle
    - Cell phone

Doesn't the paracord work as bootlaces if needed?

    Thanks for the comments!

Re: bootlaces, it isn't much of a weight penalty to carry an actual pair of laces, so I carry them in addition to paracord.

It's actually OD Green. Guess my camera just makes it look that way.
