At the time it fit my work environment. One bag I kept on the ambulance and the other bag I kept at the station. Reason being is because sometimes we'd never see the station again for 24 hours after initially getting to work. So in my bag on the ambulance I needed an extra work shirt in case mine got covered in blood or other bodily fluids, a phone charger, book to read when posting for long hours in random parking lots, snacks in case we never got a chance to eat, rain jacket, my stethoscope, GPS, etc. The other bag was my station bag so I didn't have to keep carrying my other bag in and out of the ambulance a million times. Getting back to the station, grabbing your bag/belongings off the ambulance, getting into the station, and then immediately being toned out again or told to go post again after being there for less than five minutes. Yeah that gets old over and over again, especially at 3am when you've got your a** handed to you the entire shift and you can barely drag your own tired body into the station, much less a heavy bag. In my station bag, I mainly kept my laptop in there, sometimes textbooks to study, toiletry bag, etc. For that period of time the set up worked well for me. When I moved to a less busy station though I ditched the two bag system, and then we changed work schedules/system entirely so no more stations at all. Now I just carry one backpack.
This happened to my TAD litespeed (I was pissed!!!), but it's an easy fix and has been fine now. Here's a link: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cool thanks! I'll have to give it a try when I get home. Sucks that they use such small guage zippers on a "tactical" pack. Yeah, I was highly annoyed, but would be seriously pissed if that happened on a $200+ TAD pack. sent from your mamma's house
You're welcome!!! I paid a WHOLE lot less since i traded for it, but was still annoyed. Luckily it's an easy fix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks like they've made some changes, has it improved the bag? Love the look of it and Vanquest stuff is really good quality too. :-D
I've never heard or had any experience with vanquest products prior to this bag. When I saw some youtube reviews of it, the things that had me sold were: 1. Main compartment dividers and overall organization options 2. Padded shoulder straps w/ compression straps on the shoulder straps 3. Pals webbing on bottom of bag to rig up sleeping bag/tent 4. Waist belt (removable) 5. Quality to price ratio; fit within my budget The cons: 1. The outside water storage isn't ideal.
I've always skated over this bag because it looks too small on the website - it's very welcome to see pictures showing a bit scale. Thanks!
Thanks. Yeah I was the same, but it's actually a great size, just poorly shown in the official photos. Witty Comment
Rush 24 loaded pretty tight! I was not looking to get a 2nd Rush 24 but when I saw this one discounted heavily I just could not resist,The Camo fabric is pretty amazing on this one!
It is a nice bag. I have the Sparrow 20L which I like, I ordered the 30L because sometimes I need to carry more junk. I like these packs, the straps are comfortable, the back padding is well thought out and I like the (somewhat) minimal approach to pockets.
Comet. I like it so much the new one in the mail is going back in the mail to whence it came. Great bag. The zipper failed, not how it was installed in the bag but the actual zipper. Sent it back and Osprey put all new zippers in the whole bag. They even stashed my DIY zipper pulls in one of the pockets! For return shipping to Colorado. My hydration pack from them is bomber as well. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
