I really like it just for the unique factor. Once I saw they had multicam black in stock I jumped on it. Nothing wrong with any of there other color options but I like that this is a little different.
Have you looked at the Vanquest IBEX 20? It sounds like that's what you are looking for. They are awesome quality. https://www.vanquest.com/products/ibex-20-backpack.html
I have. Call me vane, but Vanquest gear looks like trash to me. They essentially copied Arc'teryx, but made it look like utter . The 20 is admittedly less aesthetically offensive than the 30, but I still do not care for them. I like a pack to look good, since I will be carrying it around with me.
Pulled the trigger on one of these today. They were sold out of the grey so I went with the med navy. I've been carrying the GORUCK G1 for a bit and I like it quite a bit. The inventory is getting pretty impressive at this point actually. It's probably time to have a sale.
Vane? Unless you are a part of a windmill or similar, I'll call you, "vain." The grammar police have spoken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What if I am part of a windmill? I'm one of those rotating rooster things on the top, you just can't tell because the internet is anonymous. Ha, thanks for the correction.
Yeah, the only one that piqued my curiosity was the Riftcore. I am still on the fence about its looks though.
Here is one I have been looking at, the everyday pack by peak design. They had a successful first campaign with their messenger. This pack looks like it's going to be just as successful. They also have a tote and sling in development. The internal walls are lined with hook and loop panels so you could add any hook and loop accessories if you don't like the ones they provide. http://kck.st/2auUTpw Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
I couldn't agree more, Vanquest gear is quality stuff. I have several of their packs, v-slingers and pouches. Every single one of them has stood up to some abuse so far. I even purchased an item in their Fire Sale which had a defect, which i've yet to notice, it has not impeded it's use at all. As for the comment from yugotprblms about them copying Arc'teryx, im not sure how you come to that conclusion. If they've been inspired by anyone i would have said Maxpedition. I appreciate their style isn't to everyones taste though, it has a certain military feel to it which some people don't like. As for me, i prefer a bag thats functional, rather than pretty. I've got my missus with me for that
511 Moab 6 in the "Double Tap" coloration. - AnthonyAwaken.com | Sent from Mobile (auto correct & typos in all their glory)
As far as I know, the Arc'teryx developed the Khard, and everyone else copied. Vanquest made a near direct copy of it in their Ibex 30. That is the pack I am talking about. I don't doubt that their stuff is tough and what not, I just think it looks like trash. They took the very good looks of the Khard, and slapped a lot of junky looking molle and velcro on it. Their other stuff reminds me of 5.11 and a lot of Maxpedition stuff. I think those brands have a very "Walmart" feel to them, which I dislike. If I can have a bag that is functional and pretty, I will totally go for that and pay more than a bag that is functional but does not look great to me.
I found vanquest by accident when I was researching the maxpedition Sitka. I'm guessing maxpedition designed theirs first but I came across a video comparing the Sitka to the Vanquest Javelin. From there it was obvious to me that vanquest had a better pack. It looks like they did the same with the Khard vs. Ibex 30: Some people feel that just because it cost $200 more, that it's automatically better. To each their own.
