I agree. This is the smartphone-carrying-self-absorbed-celebrity-in-my-own-mind generation. Nobody is looking other than those who pay attention.
Good catch! I get the urge for no-tac often as well, biggest issue for me is most quality bags have zero organization inside main their compartment. How's the NF doing in that department?
That was one of the issues I considered as well, I am very organizational and love for everything to have its place. I must say this pack has done perfect as far as that aspect goes, I've even gone as far to find two convient loops in which I store zip ties with multiple other inside pouches and a zip up pocket located within the medium size pocket. It is the North Face Recon and I'd recommend it to anyone.
For non tactical looking you could also look at Tom Bihn Synapse, Camelbak Urban Assault Concealed, as well as the Alpha One NINER Evade.
Sheep Dog i'm very unorganized so i need my bags to be, lest i end up like ol Sandy Claws digging around his burlap did i understand you correctly in that you diy-ed the organizer innards of the NF recon? steeps yah, I cluld go for a Bihn if i found one here in outback Hyperbore- sorry Sweden Evade have been looking gorgeous and practical and thanks, had no idea camelback had covert models! Camelback is findable among the vikings here, but both Bihn and Evade are very underground, only the coolest kids know about such dark and mysterious thins...
Thank you! And Yes! Yes it is. Very happy I didn't sell it, it's suited me well recently, I've added the control panel back in with three 1H tactical tailor pouches for organization.
That is a nice bag! I've no idea what it is, but I like it. And the Texas morale patch doesn't make me biased one bit.
This was the bag's first outing. Hasn't had time to accumulate much character yet, but give it time! Born and raised Texan. Never been anywhere that felt more like home. In daily use (class and work at construction sites) and two small day trips, I really don't get why everyone is so crazy about the harness. I have a medium build with fairly wide shoulders and find the shoulder straps are passable at best. I would say they're too wide, don't breathe well and aren't padded enough. YMMV Guadalupe River, South Texas

It's not showing up online either. Trying to figure out what I did wrong. Edit: I think it's working now.
