I wasn't successful getting it to seal but I never tried a ring. The threads just don't mesh very well together. I was pretty bummed because I really like the Cap Cap.

Put your Capcap in boiling water, heat it up, screw it on, chill it. freeze it or ice cubes. my 40 oz single wall is holding fine.

Then yours probably is a lot nicer than mine. I bought mine on ebay for around 7 bucks including shipping from China

What's that interesting looking symbol in the middle there? At looks like a bullhead with an upside-down smiley-face in it.

How interesting... thank you for that :D

I actually ordered a big fat 4mm o-ring last night to see if that stops the drip, but I will try your method next! :D

How do you like the Sigg? Is it a flatish profile or is it round like most water bottles?

That's what mine looks like too.

But I've got a zippered belt-pouch for it from EMS, and an insert for the wide-mouth opening that makes it far better to drink out of.

I've been thinking about buying one of those myself. A normal bottle takes up a lot of space when empty.
I assume it will wear out faster than a standard bottle, but how long would you say the life expectancy is on that one?

Hard to say. The material feels very durable though. I carry it in my EDC bag as an "emergency" bottle and don´t use it frequently.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. To have it as an emergency bottle seems like a good idea. Now I'm definitely buying one.

I've had too many Camelbak bladders leak for me to be entirely comfortable using one in place of my Nalgene or a "hard" bottle.

That said, as an emergency backup, the idea has a lot of merit.

    Ok, I think I nailed it! :D

Before resorting to any boiling/freezing method, I got hold of an o-ring which seems to perfectly seal the Capcap to my 20oz Klean Kanteen.

It's nitrile, 52mm ID, 4mm thick. Sits very snugly under the bottom rim on the cap and stops the drip! This may be my perfect bottle.

Forgot to mention, found the rings on ebay - I also bought 5 so if anyone wants one I will happily send a couple out at postage cost to a member with the same problem.. I'm in the UK so it may not be worth it if you're not! :D

I gave up on the Cap Cap/Kleen Kanteen combo too quick! Between your solution and Ran23's, I hope to be able to start using it again.

I recently bought some of these. I had a long list of requirements and these were the only ones that worked. I've been carrying one around for a couple weeks and other than a few quirks that I've had to get used to they have been great.

One of mine took a tumble down a flight of stairs and bounced a few times on the concrete at the bottom... it was full, too. No ill effects, a couple of scratches, that's it.
My Camelbak 1L never stopped leaking. I gave up on it and ordered a Nalgene. Then I ordered another nalgene for the rotation. Both are still in use.
