As posted in one of threads http://edcforums.com/showthread.php/82448-Do-you-carry-a-handkerchief-Why/page3 Handkerchief is Personal Hygiene Item, and do you EDC any other, and what are they? During service the "must have" in soldiers pocket (upper left on shirt) was "Personal Hygiene Kit" and it was inspected on morning lineup after raising a flag... Content: 1. Handkerchief (army issued) 2. Comb (black plastic one army issued) 3. Small mirror 4. Small sewing kit (army issued) Untill then I've lost some hair so I don't EDC a COMB, and I'm about to buy a small pocekt mirror, other than that, these days I EDC: 1. Handkerchief 2. Sewing kit 3. Hygienic tissues (hope this is the right name) 4. Dental floss So what do you have?
Every day: • Tissues • Hand disinfection gel • Wet wipes • Nail clippers-kit …and most often when I leave town (even if it’s just for the day): • Foldable toothbrush with a small tube of toothpaste
Tissues Brushpicks (a kind of toothpick) Mints Wet wipes I keep a stain stick in the car for accidents from on-the-go meals. Also some tooth wipes as sometimes just the breath mints aren't enough after a meal.
Good post. When I was flying, I would always have my go-bag packed and ready to be stranded. The hygiene portion consisted of: deodorant toothbrush toothpaste floss comb hair gel wet wipes powder (depending on the region) There were times (like flying for 34 hours) where you did everything you could to feel human again. Its amazing what a couple of wipes and brushing your teeth can do!
Here's what I keep in my EDC bag: Hand Sanitizer Wet Wipes Handkerchief I also carry some of those one use, waterless toothbrush things, they're not that great, but they beat nothing. Flosspicks Deodorant, hair goo, and toothbrush/ toothpaste reside in my emergency pack (In case I'm stuck somewhere).
Go here for your supplies. I was able to put together a very tiny backup toiletry kit with their stuff. http://www.minimus.biz/
