just got a pelikano in the mail from amazon, fine tip
    http://www.jetpens.com/product_info.php/cPath/214_853_702/products_id/3547

it's fun to use, and definitely gets second looks. i like thin pens (pilot precise v5 thin, NOT sharpie pen thin), and this is probably the fattest pen I would want

the ink that came included with it is too thin- I can kind of see the paper through it

    anyways, pics!

    Re: pilot pelikano first impressions

The Pelikan (not Pilot) Pelikano is the typical fountain pen that elementary school pupils in Germany use. I think it writes great for what it costs and can take real beating when carried every day. I prefer the design it had it in the '80 ( http://www.ruettinger-web.de/e-pelikan-modell-pelikano.html , no affiliation), but that might just be nostalgia...

    oops!

anyways, after a week, I'm still pretty happy with it.
I'm going to try to get my hands on some better ink though!

Nice pen, what ink does it use? I see that it's a fountain tip, does it leak any?
You sure have an interesting handstyle. :)

it uses cartridge refill thingies, I haven't had any issues with leaking, but I'm not subject to drastic pressure gradients (from what I've heard, flying with a fountain pen is a recipe for disaster)

my handstyle results from years of not caring :D
