In olden days skulls were used to ward off death instead of inviting it. More like a "nothing to see here, move along" thing. People have them today because they think it makes them look cool.

I'm looking for the right patches for me yet, but I found this by accident and thought EDCF was a great place for it.

No patches yet but I've got a lot of gear with Velcro spots on it for them, so I'll be following this thread with interest. There are some great ones in here!

Cool pics, I gotta get me some of these patches!

I did have a couple of ideas for patches tho - this round one, kinda CAUTION-y:

Then I figured, how to identify your BoB clearly, so came up with this one (sposed to be reflective backing!) :

google search "morale patch" and you'll find tons of sites that have 'em. there are even sites that will make a patch for you, and add velcro backing, etc.

A friend of mine can stitch patches from an image you provide...
She used to do that for cosplayers and larpers, but the other day I asked for a custom patch, and she agreed and said "spread the word".

So, I can give her address so you can contact her, if you like :)

(I don't know if I'm breaking some rule, here... feel free to remove my post)

A patch of that British WW2 era KEEP CALM & CARRY ON sign that has recently become popullar on posters, mugs etc would be pretty cool. (I havent looked around & for all I know, these may already be available)

they're funny and silly and not very tactical but i guess sometimes not being tactical is actually better for being tactical right?

    Duuuude. Seriously...

A flip-flops-wearing mockup of the legged Darwin fish, which is itself a mocked Christian symbol, that was based on an Ancient Greek wordplay used by people repressed for religious policy reasons in post-republican Rome.
    Brilliant. :lolhammer:
