You are correct sir.
Please keep the status of the box updated in post #4 if you don't mind. I often check there and it seems to have been forgotten.
I have received the box of treasures. Lots of interesting bits in there. I have spent some time going through it tonight and will post my haul in the morning. I was tempted by a few things, for sure. I should get the box out to Stranger tomorrow.
FACE - I'll send you a picture of my additions tomorrow, too.
I removed these items from the box. Thanks to all who contributed!
That's either the Wenger Evowood 10 or 14? Not sure by the pic but I put that in there. philodemus will recognize the knife!!
Also, the G-Shock came from me as well. I went through a phase with the G-Shock and now I'm into analog.
Also, that light you got is Sweeeeeeet!!!! Let's just say, I didn't put that in but it didn't last long in the box.
Here's the tracking number for the 11 pounds + package headed to Stranger
Got that, Deeker. ETA is the 17th. I'll let you know when I get it.
deeker light was from over here. Hope it gets used unlike when I had it. Enjoy.
angusW It's a great little light that will likely end up out of my possession as soon as my wife sees the "orange shiny thing"! Nice firefly or moonlight mode! Simple controls that won't annoy her, which is too bad really because it is something I'd like to play with more myself. I've put a small split ring and short paracord lanyard on it.
Hopefully my additions to the box are as well received!
The package will leave Mississauga on Monday or Tuesday for my house, because that's more efficient than the two hour trip from London, as we all know. The ETA is Feb. 18.
I bought a whisky flask from a guy in Michigan last year. It went to Chicago first.
I'll bet the Post Office could save even more money if they sent the passaround to Sudbury, then Windsor!
Sudbury doesn't have a mail sorting facility anymore. It's all done in Toronto.
So let's say I send a letter across the street; it would be picked up, sent to Toronto and sorted, then back to Sudbury for delivery.
There's a sorting plant in Hamilton, right on Millen Rd. just north of the CN tracks but I've heard they're getting rid of it.
I got the box today. I'll go through it tonight and tomorrow, and hopefully get it off to Regina on Thursday.
Yeah, most of the stuff I've ordered from the BST has gone from Mississauga to Stoney Creek sorting Facility. Sometimes it doesn't make any sense at all, others it makes perfect sense.
I say it doesn't matter where it goes, so long as it gets to me with the contents in place. I tried figuring it all out long ago, but I gave up.
Here's my take:
The black notebook cover is mine. I just put the notebook in there because that's how I'll use it. I just finished taking the Ontario trapping course, and that knife would be great for skinning. I like the Atom, because of the magnet, but I wish it was black. I have a flashlight addiction, it seems, and you can never have too many Victorinox knives.
Enjoy the Grohmann Stranger
That one never got into my rotation.
I have the same knife but in a flapped sheath that does get into rotation.
It's a factory second (see the 'S' stamped on the blade), but for the life of my (and a couple others in my office) we can't figure out what the deficiency is...
When I looked up the Grohmann to check the value (for trade), I noticed that there are folding Grohmanns. I'm interested in one of those. This knife normally wouldn't interest me, but after taking the course my perspective has changed. I've never skinned an animal in my life, but in one day I skinned a muskrat, racoon and a beaver. I have a new appreciation for this kind of knife. And for Mora knives, too.
Stranger - The diffuser, grimlock and pocket screwdriver were from here.
