I know it has been a while since the last review, but I have finally uploaded another video and I wanted to share with you guys. I really dig this knife and with it being relatively cheap, I think everyone should own at least one of these. I have beaten the heck out of this knife for the last 3 or 4 months and it still comes back for more. If you are looking for a budget EDC knife, then check out the Ontario Rat 1.

And, if you can track down glow scales, even better!

Looks good! This Rat 1 reminds me of a Buck Vantage. Honestly, you just need to get your feet wet, go for it.

I loved my Rat! Only gave it up because a member of my team liked it better and needed a good knife.

I heard that they just came out with a version that uses D2 steel in place of the AUS-8. From what I've read, D2 is a better steel but I'm no expert.

I carried one everyday to work for a long time and beat the snot out of it. They are great knives for sure. I finally lost it somewhere and decided to to try a Spyderco Tenacious in its place. It has also been a good budget folder.

D2 is indeed better. I'm hoping to pick one up soon.

Yes. The Rat 1 is the best budget blade out there imo. Opinels, Sodbusters, and Svords don't appeal to me. YMMV.

I've been holding off on the D2 version with CF scales, I'm trying to thin the knife herd. I've held out, so far...:D
