I finally went for a Charge Tti and EDC cary it daily with th epocket clip. VERY practical and always there when needed. Also have a a Wave BO, but the Charge is my favorite. Thanks guys for all the advice. ;D FerFAL
I've carried both and prefer the Wave for EDC... If you do a lot of work with the outboard tools(cutting, filing, etc) perhaps the improved comfort of the Charge will benefit you, but my vote goes to the Wave.
What makes the Gerber's so good for field dentistry? I'm an EMT and was just wondering. I carry both myself- Gerber Diesel and a Leatherman Charge.
Same here. I'm an industrial maintenance mechanic and an EMT, so the Charge works out really well for me. The "guthook" isn't really all that great for cutting clothing, but it can be used in an emergency if you can't get to your shears or a bigger hook.
Have been carrying the Charge Tti for some time now and I agree with the poster that mentioned the remvable clip, the clip makes a world of a difference. If you dont want or need a bigger knife, as a general purpose folder blade the Charge is perfectly capable of performing most tasks. With the clip its just a matter of putting the Charge and a Mini 123 Quark flashlight in the right pocket, a Vaquero Grande Cold Steel folder and a Zippo lighter on the left one, key chain in the back right and wallet in the left pocket. Takes a couple seconds and I'm good to go in just a few seaconds. If I had to carry it loose in the pcoket or take the time to use the Leatherman holster I'd most likely leave it at home most times. I've used the Leatherman, Gerber, SOG, and other multi-tools in many deployments to hot and dangerous places, and none can hold a candle to the Victorinox Swisstool. I've got an early version of the stainless (read heavy and bulletproof) swisstool, and recently starting carrying a Victorinox Swisstool spirit. They've never let me down, and I can't say that of other brands.
victorinox swisstool is the best man. better grade steel and polished handles. plenty of tools! i used to own a few leathermen until i bought my first swisstool!
The Sog 2.0 used to be the hands down #1 in my eyes, but now my Victorinox RS is getting a lot more carry. and of course the style cx on my keys
