Thanks, man ... it's a Benchmade 930 Kulgera ... another sweet Oz design ... always seem to gravitate to his stuff ... Thanks, Bro ... yep, made from a 1921 Morgan Dollar ... as a kid I collected coins, and that '21 Morgan has significance to me in that 21 is "my" number and that was the year they brought the Morgan back for a single year run ...
here's a cool little knife … GEC Tidioute #06 Pemberton, with Black Olive bone scales - I like the way the color shifts from an olive green to a nice caramel color … the 06 is almost exactly the same length as a Case peanut, but a bit more "stout" … (I'll do some comparison pics when I get the chance) … great little watch pocket knife. A bit of a patina starting on this one - looks good on it I think …
Thank you Sir! Thanks, man … ! Now if only I can survive on the reduced income, it will all be lovely …
Here's a Bulldog Brand peanut … in Peacock Feather acrylic handles. I stumbled across this some time ago, thought it looked cool, and snagged it … then I did a little research and discovered that (supposedly) there were only 20 peanuts made with this handle material. Not 100% sure about that, but I personally have not seen another … either way, I still think it's cool …
Suffice it to say that our current administration is very short sighted when it comes to "getting what you pay for" and as a result over the last several years the cost and quality of contracted services to the Gov't. in the IT / CyberSecurity industry has steadily declined ... ... I (being one of the elite of course ) managed to hold on for a pretty long time, but have been forced to take 3 significant pay cuts over the last 18 months, and the writing is on the wall ... making this move will hit me with one more cut, but that's where the cuts will end ... and I can (hopefully) slowly climb back up from there ... with the added security of being a direct Gov't employee and not subjected to the things that caused those cuts in the first place. The good news is a lot of very sharp folks are coming to the same conclusion and the Gov't might just end up with a pretty respectable work force as a result. And no, I don't think they foresaw (or planned) this bit of serendipity - the new "reduced-cost" contracting process costs the Gov't approximately twice as much to administer as the Gov't is saving by doing it ... brilliant, eh? "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming ... "
Yay, surprised they managed to get that much barrel in there, thanks! Now that's a funky looking knife! I'm not that big on traditional folders nor colored handles on knives, but I think I could get used to that one. Congrats on the new job!
That makes sense, kind of. I think you've mentioned something along those lines earlier, somewhere. Either way, sounds like a smart move, even though it's somewhat of a step back at the moment. Hope it pays off mate
Lol, hey man all ya had to do was ask ... So now that you already know - it's made by Elliot Havok (I think he's on the west coast) ... a nice simple little watch, understated with a little stylish zing. The band is made by Hadley-Roma as I wasn't crazy about the one it came with - classed it up a bit I think ... I put this together for casual wear, when a bracelet watch was too much but my dive watch was a bit too "salt and sand" ... Thanks for the likes!
