    Hi!

I am in "need" of a new torch but can't decide between the two.
They both look good on paper and are rechargeable, I know that the Nitecore has longer beam distant and have built in green, red and blue light which appeal to me.

But olight is still olight and they make great products.

Anyone that has the two and can make some comparisons? guess the beam shots and how well they lights up the same place?

Please give me your thought about this

I might come to my senses here and realize that they are quite different lights and the two things in common are that they are about 1000 lumens and are rechargeable

I am very happy with the olight S10r 2 but sometimes I just want "more" so the s2r might suite my needs?

The MH27 I guess are more of a thrower and the throw of the s2r might be enough for pitch-black walks in the woods and in country roads?

The second thing I have been thinking about is that the s2r seems to be more "pocketfriendly" than the MH27

By reading this post and by analyzing my own thought it seems like I already made up my mind

I'm very happy with the S10R so I'd say go with Olight,....if you want an 18650 light check out their S30R (if you can still get them?), that's another model I'm very happy with.

So am I! I did look at the s30r first but then I stumbled on the s2r and for reasons I no longer remember (think it is the beam pattern ) I think it will be more down my alley. But I have been wrong before, will look more in to the s30r

It's not failure if you learn something from it

So I have been looking, thinking, looking some more and thinking and deciding that I am perfectly happy with my s10r baton 2 and my petzl headlamp.. But the s30r baton 3 does sound nice.. And then the prices dropped, so now there is a olight s30r 3 on the way

The s30r baton 3 arrived last week and I am very happy despite my first impression and comparison with the s10r baton 2. It really does what I need it to do and sits perfect in the left front pocket together with my MT and "snusdosa"

@Holliday I am still curious on what you tried to post

@earthman thank you for directing me to go with the s30r

Sorry, Kotts. I was having a lot of trouble when the update was going on.

It is probably a moot point now anyway, since it appears you've already made the purchase. I was just going to say that you have to evaluate what features best suits you needs. For example, if the extra throw from the MH27 would be something of value to you vs something with less throw.

I know for me, I only carry lights that have features that would give me an edge in a self-defense scenario. The right brightness, size, etc.
Everyone's needs are different. Narrowing down those needs to find the best light for you and your lifestyle.

+1 for the MH27. I would prefer that light all day because when you need the power it will be there.

Here is a review i made for my MH27 that might help make your decision.
