Lately I have been getting more and more interested in the S1R. However I have heard some saying that the clip is not good. I have no experience with friction fit clips and am wondering how bad it is? Is it just that the light rotates making indexing harder? Does the clip catch on things and bend out of shape? Worst of all, in my opinion, doe the clip separate from the light while being carried? Are there other issues?
I carried mine exclusively in construction in a small watch pocket on the front of my pants and never had any issues. It's been beat to hell but never bent.
The pocket clips on the Baton series, including the S1R, are fine... for the most part. The biggest issue for me is that the clip is constricted in such a way as to not work well on thicker material. This is a fairly common complaint. As for your concern about the tightness of the pocket clip, I feel like it is more than adequate. Lots of flashlights use similar clips and rarely do you hear complaints. Edited per Rule 13
Thank you so much everyone. That takes care of my concerns. I had heard various complaints ranging from "the clip is annoying" to "total garbage" But no one said anything about it failing to keep the light retained. And I totally agree with T.H.Cone, and thekapow. They need a bezel down option.
Before I even took the tail cap off my S1R turbo s I popped the clip off and flipped it. Just a matter of seconds and it don't damage the clip. Just flip it around.
I believe the bezel option up is for attaching them to the brim of a ball cap. At least that's what I do. I can see the interest in the reverse though.
I have an S1R that I carry daily. The clip isn't bad at all. The only issue I have is the same that others do, I wish it carried deeper with bezel facing down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
