I am looking for a edc light that is about the same size and ability as the S1R baton but with a tail cap button.

That will be a bit tough. Once you go to a tail clicky, the lenght usually increases. Not sure of the output you need. I have the turbo s version and like it. 600 or 900 lmns on turbo.
DQG make some of the smallest for the capacity.
If you define your needs a little more, we can suggest things; output, size, price, material preference etc.

    FourSevens Knight maybe.

    EagTac D25c.

Zebralight SC32 gives you a sideswitch, not a tail switch.

I’ve got a TacWare 350 coming, fits the bill but I can’t comment on function, quality or size yet.

You need to make room for a tail switch somewhere. Either you need to step down to a shorter battery (that's not likely to happen since a16340 is already very short) or you need to lose room at the working end. That means you'll be looking for mule with no optics at all, that will be very difficult to find you'll probably need to start looking at customs.

Easiest solution would be to go for a light that's slightly larger. The d25c is a decent suggestion. Or ofc stick to side buttons. What is your main reason for wanting a tail button?

Check out the Klarus XT1C it doesn't have external charging but it's very compact and has a nice interface. Plus 700 lumens in nice.

Now that is different. You can step into the 18650 world and push 1000 lmns.
Probably the most cost effective is the Convoy S2+.
Or you can get the same basic light in a shortie version that takes a 18350 (which I have).
