My S15r just arrived. Gotta say the fit / finish seems top notch. My one beef is that it will memorize moonlight for the single click option. This is really annoying. Press and hold should always be moonlight. Single click should only memorize low/Med/high. What's with this? Is this how all olights operate?

Older Olight models ( S10, S10R, S15, S15R etc.) operated like this. Latest model S1 memorizes low/med/high but moonlight is available only on press and hold. No memory.

Can't decide between the S1 or S10R II.
The S1 looks way too easy to pocket and there are some sweet deals out there for them.

How much of a pain is it pull the battery to charge everyday for the S1? Does the lack of a low voltage indicator really crop up at bad times?

You won't regret buying one of them, I owned a S10R (1st generation) and sold it because the S1 just came out and I wanted to try it. I loved the older one more because of it's features, like no o-ring change, no charger, it's very simple, you drain the battery, you put it on it's dock, after (I think) 8-10 hours you just take off the flashlight that's attached on the dock with it's magnet, while the S1 you need to take off the battery, put a new one if you have (also buy batteries if you don't have, the S10R goes full package) put the drained in the charger (also you'll need to buy one if you don't have), after some time you'll need to grease the o-rings with silicon grease.

So basically, it's a difference between stainless steel (S10R) and carbon steel (S1), you need to maintain one, a lot more that the other. It's your choice :).

The S10R is just about as easy to pocket as the S1. The difference in size is marginal (unless you want to carry it in a specific pocket/pouch).

I didn't even realize the S1 was carbon steel. Thank you for the heads up!

This is true. I have yet to handle them in person so I might be overblowing the disparity in size.

I had plans to carry the S1 in my sorely underutilized coin pocket.

Get the s1. It is more pocketable and i don't even come close to charging it often. Mostly every 2 weeks or so. I recharge over night and dont mind pulling the battery. Also i like the beam on the S1 better.

I've also heard that the charging docks have issues. Have they persisted in the new generation?

Can anyone give me an idea as to what to replace my original M20 Warrior with? It's probably one of my favourite lights ever, but I see they seem to have added a few different versions of it, just wondering which on I should go for....
