I was just playing with my charge and made an observation. You can feel what blade you are opening without looking. The SE blade has jimping on the back of the blade at the base and the PE is smooth. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this old news that I missed reading about? I have had it for about a month now and just realized. Pretty cool

Yeah, other Leatherman's like the Surge, Juice Xe6, and Juice Kf4 also have the notches. It's amazing how no other multitool brand does this. Gerber puts pictures, but that's not nearly as effective!

The grooves are on the New Wave, but not on my Old Wave, and on the Surge as well.

Actually, the last year that the Original or Classic Leatherman Wave was made (around 2003 as they New Wave came out in 2004) the serrated blade did indeed have the notches. :)

This is the kind of detail that makes the Leatherman tools standout. Has anyone noticed the rough surface on the bit adapter that allows you to get more torque when not in the knife. Also the fact that it fits regular hex bits, not just Leatherman.

It's even more obvious if you have the pocket clip attached. :p
