I've had a pair of Oakley Minute's for a good 4 years now. Worth every penny ($175 CAD) and more. I used to buy the $35-40 pair of Oakley lookalikes and ended up doing so every year or so because that's how long the tint or construction would last. And comfort/fit, well you feel the difference pretty fast. I also didn't want to spend alot of $ on shades as I was wearing glasses until August of '03.Then I decided to have LASIK surgery. After that I felt it was worth it to get a good pair of shades.
I love oakley products. i have 5 pairs of their glasses, Shooting, Biking , Every day and 4 of their goggles I also realy like their gloves/ ALL in all a great product
Picked up a pair of Oakley Radar glasses to replace my messed up half jackets. I love this brand more and more with every pair O0
i have been running the Oakley "Penny" glasses for a few years, but i just got a pair of GIRO "convert" that i love...they even have ZEISS lenses and the option to get a prescription lenses.
"and good luck trying them outside in the sunlight, where you really want to check them. " There's a shop here in Greensboro called House of Eyes with the sunglasses counter near the front and will let go to the door to try them (not a mall store). They have also repaired several of the wife's frames which lost a screw or broke an arm at no cost. Good customer service!
Polarized sunglasses cut reflections on transparent surfaces (glass, surface of a body of water) but not on reflective metal objects (like a clean car hood). This is helpful if you need to maximize your ability to see through something clear (fishing, or repelling combat swimmers ;D ).
I have the older model (the new model is a bit too... "eccentric" for me). Best sunglasses I've ever had! I lost my first pair, and when I tried to replace them, I found out they changed the design somewhat. It took forever to find a pair in the right combination (matte black frame/gold iridium lenses) but well worth the search.
WHAT A BUNCH OF POSERS YOU GUYS ARE! jk, I have 5 pairs. Plus bags, gloves, golf apparel, shoes, and goggles.
Ken do you know if this applies to volunteer FD? I have a pair of polarized Half jackets and I am fixing to get another pair. goat
All you need to register at US Standard Issue is some sort of government or county email with some sort of issued ID card or paperwork.
You don't even need a .gov email address. Your issue ID or Paystub from work should get you taken care of.
I used to wear those wrap arounds in 87 - 89 for riding , till they just went out of style ... im hinting for christmas to my Wife for a Pair of HIJINX GASCAN Black Iridium .......... gonna have to get her somthing good also :winkwink:
What's the low down on their watches. I do know they look very unique and sell for a grip of cash. Anybody have any say on quality and performance?
Oakley watches are very very durable. overpriced, definitely. Uniquely styled, for sure. Seems to get one, you get the other as well. I worked for Oakley for awhile, on the retail end of things, so I had a lot of hands on with the watches. They all feature varying degrees of swiss jeweled movements (with the exception of the low end...*cough*...still $300 watches). The higher end watches also have anti reflective sapphire crystals (some may not be anti glare, not sure on that one). They are all very big, and very heavy, except for the titanium Time Tank, that one is just big. Nice watches though. As I said, you get very durable, very unique watches, a hard to find combo.
I got a pair of Oakley ballistic sun glasses from when I was in the military and I love those things. I'm outside quite a bit but tend to wear a hat so the sun isn't really a bother. I do, however, find myself wearing them when I'm driving on the highway and I can't keep the sun out of my eyes. They are comfortable and I can actually wear them over my prescription glasses without you being able to see them underneath. The other great thing is that while it does an excellent job keeping out the light, I don't really get that crazy black/grey tint like you do with a lot of sunglasses. I feel comfortable wearing them and being able to distinguish colors, etc. I think they cost about $180 but if you can find them they are worth it. If I can find a pic or model number I'll post it.
I have a pretty small mellon so i battle to find shade to suit me, found a great pair of casual shades in the Oakley Ducati Gas Cans. My tactical glasses are however Wiley X B2s.
I wear prescription Intake 2.0's for work and at night and prescription Ti Whiskers for outdoors. I don't think I can wear anything but Oakleys now- I'm spoiled...
