    I carry a write in the rain 3x5 top spiral notebook for every day info, lists etc... I have a system, using both sides front and back pages, in a certain order for different info... fill a page, and all marked off, tear the page out, and flip the next page over. When I get down to a couple plastic covers left, i cut the back one up to keep the rulers off ii for around the house, and get a new one. One lasts me about 4 or 5 months.

    I also carry a moleskine or equivelant at times for a modified GTD system for long term projects, some journaling and collecting commonplace information. (commonplace books are fun to do; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonplace_book I collect info on the go, then transfer it to a large 8.5x11 hardbound book at home later. )

    I carried a custom D*I*Y planner version of the hipster PDA for a while;
    Hipster PDA= 3x5s and binder clip.

    It worked fabulously for me, but printing and customizing cards go to be a bit of a hassle, and I just phased it out eventually.
