That appears very similar to this:

An M43, enlisted panzer field cap. This week, beginning Thursday, I'll wear it as I drive this,

... at a WWII Battle of the Bulge reenactment at Ft. Indiatown Gap, Pennsylvania.

(Disclaimer: I am not a nazi. I don't even consider myself a reenactor. I am a former U.S. tanker who was handed an opportunity to drive the beast many of us likely saw in Saving Private Ryan.)

That :censored: mother :censored: :censored: :censored: thing has more issues than a season of Jerry Springer. Yet we roll to The Gap on Thursday morning.

It's not a Tiger at all, BTW, it's an old soviet T34 dressed to look like a Tiger, with an old Detroit V8 diesel in it!

You are correct that the origin of my cap and that in your photo is same. From 1920´s or so Germany.
But my cap is a new made exact copy of the cap that my countrys armed forces used from 1930´s to about 2010. Nowaday they use only camo caps that looks like ball caps.

Yeah, worked with several of the German armed forces in Afghanistan. Totally jealous of your camouflage pattern.

A T34 is probably the best overall tank of the second war. I loved to read how it kicked butt everywhere it went.

No way could I get a mustache like that! But the chopper ride was phenomenal enough for me to want a hat.
