    Hey EDCers

Going to leaving soon on a long term business trip and my company is does not want any tactical looking backpacks. Stating security risks. I usually take my 5.11 tactical Rush 72 pack on these trips but since it has all of the molle everywhere I don't really want to risk getting told I can't use it while we are out and about.

Walked around some of the stores local to me and all the normal backpacks are either all crapy quality or stupid expensive ( $75-$100)

So I am looking for a non tactical backpack that I can have a descent IFAC in it, 24 hrs of clothes and still have some space available for camera, knife and multi tool

Any recommendations / links/ photos are greatly appreciated

Look at L.L.Bean online. I also have a couple of nice NorthFace packs that have plenty of pockets and accommodations...

Condolences for being without your primary pack. It's a horrible feeling!

[IMG] North Face Recon or Surge. Jansport has a sale going on at their website. Right Pack backpack @ $60 has great reviews, several low profile colorways.

Geeze, where are you going that a "tactical" bag could be a security issue?

As everyone else mentioned, Northface or Jansport. You'll blend in almost any where, at least in America. If you're going out of the country, maybe wait until you can find something locally, to even better blend in. If not and budget is an issue, I'm sure Wally World has something in their Ozark Trail line...;)

I am looking for the same thing. I'm leaning towards the vertx gamut.

I will be leaving the continent but not exactly sure of where exactly I will be going. ( exact itinerary at this time)

new company policy I guess WRT tactical backpacks. I also have a small red rock outdoor bag and they definitely frowned on that one as well

And as for Walmart. The closest one to me sucks. And they don't stock any items Like Ozark trail.

Check Mountain Equipment Co-op since you're from Canada.
The North Face Surge and Recon are good choices.
I've found LL Bean packs to be good as well.
Sport Chek I believe carries Osprey brand packs.
Around here they are popular with the university students who aren't wearing The North Face or Swiss Army gear.
I have a RUSH 24 and like the "bombproof" feel of it, but a decent nylon pack will still last you many years if constructed properly

Another popular manufacturer of "non-tactical" bags is Osprey. They have a few bags that are designed as travel bags. Their price is typically around $100-$150.

Anything below $100CAD ( anything over that I might as well go with the 521 covert 18 pack)

Maillet, do you mind me asking what you ended up with, and how you like it?
    Thanks

Osprey Pulsar is my go to EDC bag, priced at $89.00 normal price... Can find on sale online or retail @ $54.00 or less. I have a both Green and Black and my girlfriend uses a black one for her EDC.

I travel to the Middle East with my tactical backpack, the only place I ever got stopped is Denver. Haha.
Too bad $100 is "crazy expensive", there are lots of non-tactical options that would last you a lifetime of travel.

    "....stupid expensive ( $75-$100)..."

    Stupid expensive?
Sorry mate but the range for quality backpacks under this range is very limited. Yes there are some good ones, but even those will just do and leave much to be desired.

The reason I don't want to go too crazy is I already have more back packs that I really need but all of them have a tactical look to them or don't suit my needs for work
