Sure, it's too big to EDC, but who else, besides me, want's one? A show of hands, please.
Now I'm in trouble.....just showed this to Mrs Hal (she likes!!)....luckily for me they aren't for sale in the UK (I neglected to tell her I could import one )
Do you guys all have fixed tubs at home?
Show her the price tag … and the extra price tag for the heating coil.
Otherwise it would be nice … if you go somewhere remote with your car and have enough space to transport both.
You can't bring price into the conversation. You can't justify it, so don't try. Get the combo pack and you'll get out for under $1K.
I show you that big ruck I want to buy so I can carry stuff just like this (you beat me up about weight) and then you post something like this??? MIXED SIGNALS PAL!!!
Oh yeah, I think I can pack this, NO PROBLEM!!
I'm not going to carry it. I mean, I'd consider making my wife mule it around for me, but me carry it? No way.
BTW, you'll also need to carry a couple of 20lbs. propane tanks with you, so have fun. I'll be roasting marshmallows when you get to camp.
If I had one my wife might agree to go camping more often. Even before we had a kid her idea of camping doesn't involve the tent being out of sight of the car
It actually works with propane or firewood according to the manufacturers website.
What would you wear between the tub and the woodpile?
Like carrying a chainsaw and premix is any easier than propane tanks.
Answer #1: shorts
Answer #2: I don't need no stinkin chainsaw to get wood!! LOL..
I was going to say what is happening in that picture looked like a forest fire just waiting to happen.... But I guess he has a bunch of water.... hmm...
Haha.. What'll they think of next.
I like that you can heat it with firewood, but needing a gas powered water pump to fill it kind of kills it for me. Might be a possibility at an RV campground with full hookups (ie w/faucet) but don't believe they'll approve of volume of water used... or returned.
I hope those rubber hoses between the coil and the tub don't melt. You'd think they'd want the fire a little further from the tub too.
Honsetly you don't have to fill it so high. I'm sure its done for the pics, but that much water will make it overflow the top when you displace it. And where is one going to get enough clean water while out camping to be able to use it?
Get long enough sticks and you can roast marshmallows from the hot tub.
So many nay sayers...
Gas powered pump? Nah. Taking the kids camping? Put them to work. No kids? The hot tub will just feel that much better soaking away your sore back.
Melting hoses? Looks to be steel right to the side of the tub (with a bit of steel braided flex in there).
Clean water? Werent you going to swim in that river/lake anyway? Ok maybe bring an ounce of bleach along.
A coworker of mine heated his pool this spring in a similar way using a roll of 1/2" gas copper and a bonfire. He had to use a pump due to the restriction of the copper.
I know, right?
Portable hot tub!
Now that's luxurious camping!
What will they think of next?
