Looking at the Paramilitary 3 as another EDC knife. In my job I use my edc knife all the time and sometimes beat on it.

Worried about the tip on the Para 3. Anyone have one and have issue with it breaking?

I have a Paramilitary 2 and love it just a little too big for an office setting with the handle. Obviously no issues with the tip breaking but I don’t EDC this one to the office.

Overall, how do you like the Para 3?

I'm waiting for them to release a LW in anything but black. :D

Why do you need to beat on a knife in an office setting? I'm intrigued...

I also am wondering what activity in an office might result in a knife tip breaking....

That aside. I opted for the Para 3 LW. Partly a cost thing. But also because Spyderco decided to offer the LW with the CTS-BD1N steel. In a similar manner to the H1 steel and the LC200N steels, this appears to be very corrosion resistant; my reading also indicated it sharpened relatively easily and held an edge well. So.... the knife is a lower cost; the steel offers some real benefits; it is lighter to carry. AND it still has the compression lock.

    What's not to love? :).

Yeah, I know the LW Para 3 only comes with a black handle right now. Not an issue for me!

It’s where I go from the office, to warehouses and different sites. 80% office 20% elsewhere.

Definitely not saying I beat on it on the regular but I definitely will forget if the tip is as sensitive as the Para 2. But I also shouldn’t be prying or opening screws with my knife either lol

Have you considered a small fixed blade? If that's legal where you are...

Thought about it and have a few just never really liked the idea. I am one to remove the clip and carry the knife in my pocket mostly.

Get what you like! If it breaks, then stop doing that.
    Spydies are good strong knives.

If you love chunky blades (on a folding one, i prefer 3mm or less in thickness) check on Lionsteel SR2 or SR22.

I have been on a big Giant Mouse kick, loving their ACE line. Have been going back and forth between my Biblio and Clyde. Biblio wins out most days... nice chunking slicer. Look at Clyde if you need more of a point.

Curveball. My buddy had a Bugout. Insanely light and very nice. But not for what I posted about originally obviously. Ordered a Bugout because I couldn’t stop thinking about that thin lightweight feel and deep pocket clip.

    And I ordered a Para 3. Lol

Ask about one knife, order that one and another...I like how you operate! The Bugout has been my EDC for over 2 years now. It’s a great knife.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the Bugout and Para 3. They should make a good pair.

I recently dug out my old Buck 112 and started carrying it again and bought another off e-bay. Going old school

@nmpops: Bravo! More power to you!

I am a fan of Buck also; have a classic 110; a 112; the newish 110 Slim Hunter Pro (w/micarta), as well as a Vertex with an SE grind and a medium size stockman... Needless to say, my favorites are the two 110's and the 112!

And I'm a guy who rarely ventures beyond suburbia. I just like the feel of the 110 and the 112 in my hand!

Just cashed in my knife budget for the next 6 months today, and ordered a mini Presidio 575 Shot Show special in M4 and burnt bronze.

I'm so very excited... I've had the original Presidio 520 for over 10 years and it's my favourite BM design of all time (I love the 'shute knife' looks - the Al Mar SERE Attack is a grail for me).

Despite not being a fan of the standard black scales colourway on the Presidio, not picking up a mini Presidio before they were diso'd was a knife regret for me as I'd wanted to see how the more compact version for pocket carry as I carried the full size knife in a pouch.

However, the new mini Presidio is so close in size to the 520 (the original mini was markedly smaller) how I coud justify getting it???

Then along comes one in burnt bronze...
My favorite anodised scales colour? Check. I don't have any other knives in M4 steel? Check. Very unusual to be able to pick up a limited run BM in the UK? Check...

After a few days rumination, I had to take the hit and get it... Seems if I'd waited a couple of days longer I would've probably saved myself - I mean, just missed out; the dealer said they'd sold like hot cakes and I'd bagged the last one...

It'll be my countryside carry (and home fidget toy/talisman) as I need to carry a slippie in urban areas.

Hello everyone. My name is Moose, and I have an addiction...
