Yesterday I was in Sams Club, and walking by the watch counter I spotted a Casio that musta called out to me.

Now I haven't worn a watch in twelve years (previously I had worn one religiously for 30plus years) and I don't really know why I suddenly needed a watch, but I went and bought the dang thing.

I'm still tryin to figure out why, but anyway got it for 99 bucks and an extra 5.99 for the 2 year extended service plan. It's the Pathfinder PAG80 with solar battery, altimeter, compass, barometer, temperature, alarm, auto light, and a bunch a other things I haven't yet looked at.

So I went from NO WATCH to SUPER NINJA WATCH.

Don't know why I need to know all that stuff as I don't travel much anymore, but I guess it's pretty cool.

I vaguely remember reading something from years ago that there is a way to tweek the speed of the seconds count down . Anybody with that info would be appreciated and any other comments, too.

Currently Casio Pathfinder line totals out to 20 different models, broken down into 3 sub-categories:
    • Solar Atomic Triple Sensor (12 Watches)
    • Solar Triple Sensor (4 Watches)
    • Triple Sensor (4 Watches)
The PAG80's fall into the Solar Triple Sensor tier.

The feature lists are fairly long across a well populated product line. I really, really wish that Casio would let you pick X watches (5 seems to be a common number) and display a side-by-side feature list.

When I was playing with them, some have an interesting LCD overlay design/feature where you can see the time and other readouts, with the compass readout being overlaid on that, but not obscuring the primary data.

    ATB,
    Sam

That is a great watch! I got a PAW-1500-1v and I love it. The whole atomic synching thing keeps my OCD side in check and the solar charging keeps me from having some fool at the jewelry store ruin a watch not knowing how to put a new battery in. (happened twice with a CASIO at different places.)

What's that watch go for at Sam's? It's $99 at Costco.

How are you liking it after 8 months or so?
