Anyone with skills able to say whether you could swap one arm from the MUT?

If you put the MUT bit driver arm you'd get 3 'blades' and lose the pointless can opener. Shame about the AWL.

Also, how good would it be if you could wed the MUT hammer/strap cutter to the Signal saw arm?

I wonder who thought it was a good idea to make the main blade a combo edge? Someone should be fired for that SNAFU.

I'm intrigued. I could care less about the blade, I would never use it. Now that they have made a "survival" tool I wouldn't mind seeing them go all the way. This tool seems great for those days with a mix of activity. A short walk in the woods in the morning, followed by working around the house and then into the city for dinner. There are tasks it can do in any setting. But I can't help wonder what it would be like if you removed the pliers and added pruner type shears?

    I kinda like it.
I'll probably never use the ferro rod, even camping and hiking I don't have a use for them... And I garantee I'll never use the stupid whistle.. But the Rebar head, the basic tool selection, and in that size, with the skeletool like caribiner for carry, it looks pretty good to me.

How do you define medium, and full sized? :)
The blog post lists it as " adds a new look and feel to Leatherman’s full-sized multi-tool line", but what they call full size is what I call their medium... (Wave, Charge, Wingman size), what I;d call full size they call heavy duty(Surge, MUT, etc)

Are you wanting Wave sized, or smaller? :)

Oh yeah, I gotta say their photo staging department needs work... Lots of it.
That shot where they are using the ferro rod is a riot, with a green broken stick/bark end sticking up in the right side of the pic, with the central mass of tinder, rather large sied pieces to light with a ferro rod, and obviously green as well... Only way thats gonna light from that rod is if its been doused in gas!:rofl_revamped::rofl::rofl_revamped::rofl::rofl_revamped: :nah_disagree:

So what's the fourth "blade" or is there one? I count saw, combo edge knife, and diamond coated file. Is there not a fourth?

I was thinking it might be a single sided tool as far as outside blades go, like the Wingman and Sidekick are, and the file is an inside too, folding into one handle.

Don't like the blade and hate the bit driver. A proper screwdriver and Philips head (like on my Rebar) would have been better. I'll pass.

Turns out they literally meant a wearable tool box. Introducing the Leatherman Tread.

It would be cool if they made that as a watch band

I think that falls in the "neat but not for me" category. It seems like it would be clunky to use too. Unless it comes apart somehow?

For me it depends on the material, which will affect weight. I think I can see some flat-head screws on the side of every link.

I like the idea of a firesteel in a multi tool, but this one looks kind of puny. Sure, it's for emergency use, but still...
And I agree the combo blade is a turn-off. I think I'll stick with the Wave. ;)

That "Tread" thing looks like a multi tool even Guy Fieri won't wear! That gaudy phony so and so... And just what I need in a bushcrafting survival tool! Pliers!!!

What was that sound? Oh, just Leatherman jumping the shark...
