Leatherman just posted on the Instagram a few hints of stuff they are releasing on the 20th and 21st, one looks like a bush craft tool and the other is some tool box? But wearable? Lol

Has anyone heard anything about it?

Hmmmm, interesting. Actually all of their multitools are "wearable" if you count the sheath. ;)

I'm guessing the wearable tool box is just a multi tool with a whole lot of features. Must be heavy.

Something bigger and heavier with more tools than a Surge? If that's what it is...I probably won't be able to resist it.

It fleetingly-appears to me that Leatherman has ventured into that market segment in which Gerber has placed great emphasis; particularly in its Pockettools product line and I admonish the decision. I fully understand Leatherman's decision to increase growth by offering what it perceives to be demand in that area; however, I see a trend that Gerber illustrated a decade ago in a fundamental shift away from the better-constructed niche offerings and toward more consumer-grade items designed to capture a greater market share by the greater use of advertising and lower price points.

I only seen one item on the present Leatherman that piques my interest: the Wingman. With the emphasis on adding function and size to its present models, I see that singular item as an update to the original model offered three decades ago and as a return to the concept of utility and a sensibly-sized and priced multitool. I would like to see a plain blade made with better steel. Other than that singular criticism, the Wingman is a decent model.

I agree with Odbm. I was getting really tired of LM constantly introducing a new skate or surf or bottle opener tool....

So far they seem to be adding more options without sacrificing quality. They make a lot of products that I don't personally care for, but everyone has their own tastes and needs. My wingman works fine for my needs but I wouldn't mind trying out one of the larger tools someday. When the quality and customer service start to suffer I'll start to complain, but until then they've kept me happy.

I can't wait to see what they'll unveil.
Hopefully it will have a coke dispenser, a wifi hotspot, and a minigun.
    :p

Just kidding, but I am anticipating what it will be.

The new multitool is called the 'Signal', and supposedly to cater to the survival crowd. Been discussed over at multitool dot org for some time now.

I like the Wingman a lot, but I'm a file lover and didn't like the one on the Wingman. I got a Wave instead. And it actually paid off last week.

True story: we're selling our house and I had to return to the property to clean out the tool shed last week, forgot the keys (of course), and had to use the Wave's file to saw through the MasterLock. Took about 20 minutes, but that was much better than three hours of driving. I also had stopped by Harbor Freight and picked up a $7.99 bolt cutter before I arrived, and one of the blades literally snapped off when I cranked down on that MasterLock. Lessons learned.

Good work!I never would have guessed a multi tool file would work that well on a masterlock!

Learned it from my dad. He had to escape from a locked gate after an evening of fishing on private property once.

That's why I don't like the one on the Wingman, because it's short, odd-shaped, and I don't think the file is cut into the edge (just the flat). It's that edge that can saw through metal.

It seems like the civ version of the mut, might be cool to play with. I'd be sold if it was a medium size tool instead of a full size one.

Is it worth it for a ferro rod and whistle? Hmmm
